I like his chances, if he can force Deontay Wilder to fight him on the inside at short range along the ropes. The key to victory for Tyson Fury is to make this is a very physical and ugly fight by backing Wilder up.
He has to lean on Wilder, clinching him and holding him while hitting. In addition, he has to maul, grind and wear down the much smaller Deontay Wilder by smothering his punches on the inside with his superior size and weight.
It's a very risky strategy because by Tyson Fury standing flat-footed and giving up his physical advantages of height and reach; It would make him a much easier target for Deontay Wilder to hit.Comment

Also, if Deontay comes in around 220lbs, it's lights out.
I don't know how Fury could possibly be favored after his last performance versus Wilder, and his GOD AWFUL performances since.
I like Fury as a person, but his only real chance here is to box as much as possible from range, and tie Wilder up on the inside. He couldn't do it successfully for 12 rounds the first time, and he won't do it here.
He's going to get starched. Smart money is on Wilder by ko.Comment

Fury going to give up what he does best (taptaptap, move) and play into Wilders strength ????
Has Fury ever won a fight vs a real opponent that way ?!?!?!?Comment

Wilder can.be knocked out but you have to wear him down consistently. So it's risky as the more time you spend attacking him you might leave yourself open.Comment

Ernie Shavers had twice the fights and a similar KO rate. He also fought the likes of Ali and didn't have hand picked pansies to knock over.
Wilder has the best KO rate and the worst ranked opponents of any Heavyweight Champion ever, go figure.Last edited by Angeljuice; 02-06-2020, 06:20 AM.Comment

Fury will outbox Wilder all night. If Fury fights to plan and Wilder fights to plan, Fury wins every time.
Wilder can only win if Fury makes a mistake.Comment

I think anybody talking in absolutes with this fight must be entirely blind to their own ignorance of the sport. It's a great match up, a total pick em' with so many different variables at play. Especially the Fury trainer switch, which adds an entirely new level of complexity and intrigue.
I feel like the fight itself is most likely going to be fairly uneventful, much like the first fight. The knockdown rounds aside, not all that much happened really. I say most likely because Fury is quite literally the most unpredictable character in boxing today, he may well come out and smother Wilder's work. Who knows
Gun to my head, I go for Fury on points! However both fighters are equally live here, it's about as close to 50-50 as it comes, maybe 48-52 as Fury won more rounds and counter punchers tend to do better in the re-run.Comment
