Is this the guy who Lloyd Honeyghan ran across the ring at the bell and ironed out before he could get off his stool?

Rest in peace champ, way too young. I remember like yesterday watching the honeyghan fight live as a teenager, great stuff.

          RIP.

Benton & Duva were a good team for a good while. Didnt even realize Johnny was one of their guys.

JB and Rocky Lockridge were the Duva's first champs...then they got most of the 84 team and took off....I started watching boxing in April 83, Johnny picked by one of the boxing mags to stop Aaron Pryor..then he lost to Hatcher and faded...I think he did some training of fighters after dealing with drug issues...maybe he and Rocky are having fun in heaven, RIP

Bumpus was part of a long line of great fighters I used to luv watching in the 80s, back in the early days of ESPN and of course Wide World Of Sports. R.I.P. champ, gone way too soon.
