Kownacki should be fighting Rivas or Hunter someone in top ten . Cojanu isn't exactly note worthy either but its a safety fight after Ajagba's last one. I still dont know how Martin got the title elimination on the Wilder card when Kownacki defeated both those guys ? ,I guess they are going to try and have Martin or Washington to fight Kownacki for the final one and keep Kownacki away from more dangerous guys in the WBC top 5 so have kept him off the Wilder card ? When you piece the puzzle together its apparent they are trying to get Kownacki a title against Wilder if he gets by the Fury situation .

The Kiladze fight slowed down the Ajagba hype train (and I don't mean that critical of Efe). He got caught, hurt and dropped. He showed the heart he will need in future fights but now they knew they need to work on some of his liabilities. A guy like Cojanu is a step back but Efe can build up some confidence, show his progress to his team and blast him out when needed.

Of course I want to see him against stiffer competition but I get why they are throttling it down a notch.

Kownacki's fight against Arreola was a little too competitive. The Mexican American fighter was supposed to be a nice KO victim on the resume; Chris looked better than he has recently. Helenius is past his prime I question his durability. Kownacki should be in against better competition but I'm not convinced he could beat that better competition.

Dubois vs Gorman was the kind of matches I would like. Make Efe vs Yoka. Or even vs Dubois. Stop protecting prospects, make them develop faster! Otherwise they'll be old when they meet someone decent.

Efe isn't ready for DDD ,his last fight showed whoever thought DDD would defeat an Efe were right all along. Its a good fight for Efe maybe not the fans but its a process of developing . If a prospect gets a bumpy road almost always they will take safety fights, people forget wilder was saved by the bell in his 13th fight and look at the road he went down. Efe has a lot of potential if he takes it slow.

I can't wait for Cojanu to stick his tongue out at Ajagba, only to have it knocked into the 10th row

Dubois is 3y jounger and fought (destroyed) that guy 1y ago. He then fought other 4 guys in the same year, one of which was gorman, who had also defeated Cojanu.

Now he's probably facing Joyce. This is the way to go for young prospects.

Cong****. Not every prospect is the same. Dubois has been boxing his his childhood and has 75+ amateur fights And has a far better pedigree. Ajagba on the other hand played soccer his entire youth and started boxing about five years ago.

And you want him to fight the guy who just won a gold medal?

Efe will progress steadily to become a title challenger by 2022.
