The main difference between Ortiz and Whyte, is Ortiz is a great boxer, one of the best in the division, but Whyte is one of the sloppiest in the division.

Yep, I agree as a boxing fan that Ortiz is more satisfying to watch than Whyte, 100%. but they are both drug cheats which i won't personally forget, but the boxing world (sadly) does.

Not sure that Ortiz is one of the best in the division though sorry (and I am not discrediting his Jennings win from drug test failures like many are doing with Whytes wins).... But Ortiz has not beaten anyone of note and has struggled against people whom, at his suggested level, he shouldn't of (Hammer comes to mind - Should I leave this out because of Fury's drug test failure?? might suit some fans... but nah, lets play fair)

I do see your point (as Whyte is unconventional and foolhardy to say the least) but even if we just use the champ, Wilder, as an comparison for the sport and observation point via rounds won against opponents (since thats the rule to our game), we can see a discrepancy in that argument being such that Wilder losing many many rounds is rather "sloppy", maybe even more so than Whyte??... and this is the champion of the sport remember.

I suppose then this conjoins nicely into your next comment of "a cherry pick mismatch into life and death" a comment which again, i suggest, sits more suitably with Deontay than with Dillian perhaps?? More so when considering opponents and rounds lost, whether drug fuelled or not??

Its the very few that regard boxing as a sport anymore, the mass wants to see KO's, hence the UFC/MMA was born.

Back to the thread topic, Wilder is the champ, Whyte is the mandatory and has been without a shot for the longest in history, yet Whtye is the liar?? Wilder gave a full speech before the first Ortiz fight saying "I'm giving you a chance you shouldn't have Luis". and then personally texts Dillain saying "I will freeze you out"

I'm certainly no Whyte fan, but Wilder ducked him like a limbo bar.

Why does anyone in their right mind want to argue in favor of someone with tainted drug testing samples? Have we really become so enamored with hating another fighter that we want to excuse the cheating of another fighter? Yo, boxing fans have really changed and it’s like night and day. The same folk who used to lynch fighters for PED su****ions not even failed tests are now arguing for those who failed them to get title opportunities. Can’t make this shh up.

Bruh, that's how it is nowadays. It's the same way in politics. We have a crook in office and we all know it but his base continue to support him. So I'm not surprise by boxing fans. You hit the nail on the head with your post.

Well once again I am assured a good time when Boxing Scene gets moving. There are a few boxers or subjects that when I see the headline, I know a good read is coming. One of those is ANY time Wilder slams another boxer. Wilder is the gift that keeps on giving.....

Whyte has a good resume. I feel he is a legit top contender for Wilder. I do not think Wilder cares about or for Whyte. I remember full well the brief moment when Wilder was in talks (all through the media I am sure) to fight Whyte, but would not do it in England and wanted a unification with Joshua after. When that feel through I never heard anything again until the Ortiz fight was kicked about. I do not think either "ducked" the other, but Ortiz took another fight and got the Wilder match as a result when basic negotiations with Whyte fell through. (This was the fight that Ortiz failed drug test cost him with Wilder.) I remember zero about the Breazeale situation. I just cannot see someone of Whyte's reputation ducking a limited, overrated boxer like him. So, color me skeptical on either of these "ducks" being legit.

So we need to see if Wilder gets through Fury. If he does, Whyte will be there although not a mandatory yet. I can see it happening. Whyte may have to accept a fight in the US, but if he is willing I can see the drama around this working out in the ring. Will be interesting.

Wilder declined 7 million to fight Whyte while looking for a opponent . Ortiz had been banned after Wilder accepted and Whyte was still available that time before they overturned it to a suspension of a few months months. Wilder did nothing but grandstand ,when you decline this amount of money that's ducking . Whyte was ranked I believe number 1 or 2 there was no reason for Wilder not to take the fight if it's an easy fight.

Being #1 and being mandatory are 2 different things.

It's all irrelevant, because I expect whyte weasels out of a title fight against wilder, as soon as fight looks likely. just like he weaseled out of AJ fight for 3 world titles last year. Twice!!

I really don't know why people want to see this fight. It won't even be close. Dillian Whyte will be on his back OUT in 3 rounds or less. He doesn't move his head enough and will be stretched. He'll try to be as aggressive as he can, but his chin is too weak. Way too many people have wobbled him including Parker and Chisora.

If the WBC ranks Whyte as the #1 contender, then Wilder should fight him or lose his belt. We know Whyte probably can't take a big shot from Wilder, but can Wilder take a big shot from Whyte? I think it's worth a look.

I'm from the UK and regularly call out Whyte when he needs to be called out. The Klitschko lie was horrible.

He did duck AJ, and that doesn't get mentioned nowhere near enough.

Wilder KO's Whyte, even though Whyte could be a tricky opponent at his best but I don't think Wilder is fighting better competition. The only proven fighter is Fury. Ortiz is a good fighter who I like but we don't actually know how good he is.

Whyte has fought AJ and been in with all round arguably the tougher tests, if he fights one of Ruiz or Povetkin that just further proves it.

I like both fighters, not their biggest fans so no bias from me here btw.

I rate Ortiz boxing skills over Whyte. He doesn't have the biggest gas tank, but its better than Whytes. I'm probably picking Ortiz over all Whytes wins except Parker, who I believe deserved the win over Whyte and which I believe would be 50 50 vs Ortiz.

Ummm Whyte lied a out the Klitschko sparring. Also, Whyte is mandatory now but was not named mandatory for 2000 days. He was number 1 contender. The only way the #1 contender doesn't become mando is if he turns it down which aligns with what Wilder says. Recall Whyte turning down the final eliminator versus Ortiz? Again, he wasn't mando. So how do you duck a guy who won't fight the fights to become mando? By this logic anyone the champ doesn't fight who calls him out is considered ducked.

Thats quite interesting, I hadn’t thought of it much before but I’d probably make Ortiz a favourite v Parker. Not by a lot though.
