Whyte took a pre workout supplement that had a banned substance in it, admitted to it and got a 1 or 2 year ban.

It’s hardly the same as getting caught for 3 different injected drugs on 3 occasions and trying to deny it

didn't AJ say he didn't mind?

IIRC Miller is one fight aj actually wants because it became personal over comments about his mother/family.

I think that fight will happen eventually. Either when AJ needs to be built back up following a loss to Fury/Wilder or if AJ somehow gets through those and Top Rank feed Miller enough bums to rebuild him.

AJ vs Miller will be promoted as a grudge match, the cheat vs the golden boy, family comments etc etc. It's probably the 4th biggest fight out there for AJ as long as Miller doesn't flop on his return.

I think Hearn's biggest weakness is an inability to delegate. Instead of investing big money in named fighters, the first thing he should have done was pull in an executive that understands the nuances of the American market.

He is flying at 50 thousand feet speculating about the people’s culture below trying to influence them with a charismatic lack of understanding.

The Miami thing seems like it was done to create proximity to the Super Bowl? Problem is no one but the wealthy take two weeks for a Super Bowl trip. There is no holiday unless you are super wealthy. And for the middle class the whole damn thing is costly enough.

In addition he scheduled it at the same time as major concert? WTF? But then the venue he chose was a remarkable fail also. Who holds a fight in a Miami Night Club? I thought DAZN was about to file bankruptcy. Brand was indeed impacted.

As importantly Dazn would be doing alright if they weren’t afraid to match there fighters. Or maybe they spent so much money they can’t afford to match their fighters.

It’s like this... seeing a guy walk down the street is pretty mundane. There is no spectacle there any of us can observe that each day.

In metropolitan areas, we can watch 10’s of thousands of people scamper down the street at various speeds and we choose not to...why because it is boring.

Let’s be honest, for the most part there is nothing risky about that walk. And in America a guy wearing our Flag as he walks adds very little interest.

However put the guy wearing a flag in the hood in Baltimore, New Orleans or St. Louis and now you have a show.

Let a guy walk a tight rope 50 stories up on that same street and now you have a show.

Or watch a guy trying to escape a bank robbery with armed officers in tow... now the world can’t look away.

Eddie has the fighter ingredients but to keep profits safe he is avoiding a key component for fights in the states. In the US we must see the drama.

You can’t just say, see that guy walking a regular route... well one day he will be a guy walking a tight rope 50 stories up. Well Hearn let me know when he is actually up there.

Americans are not moved by foreshadow. Here you have to make the fight. Until Hearn figures out that dynamic DAZN is doomed.

However great to see he is appreciated there with out having to clip the barbed wire of hateful banter. I don’t hate the man just think his ego has run amuck so long he lacks self awareness.

Btw- visited Edinburgh recently, what a beautiful city. Want to see more of Scotland.
I loved that post until you said in USA you have to make the fight that can't be further from the truth I think But that's just my opinion. But honestly, thanks for some insight into that part of the world I appreciate it.

Cities don't come much better than Edinburgh to be fair. I'm well travelled and it's never lost it's magic. Glad you enjoyed

Bro... I have enough humility to not say I know a culture better than it knows itself. That would be really silly and I am speculating based observation.
In addition, I have seen the brits up close at a US Based fight. You guys always brought the best energy to the fight. Got trashed with a enough dope Brits in Vegas when we were
on opposite sides of the fighter equation.

However I will say this, AJ has a gentleman charisma that I don’t believe can fail in Great Britain. He was a brute in the ring who also had the charisma of an action hero. Just the opposite of the states where we prefer Mike Tyson’s character.

I can say you guys don’t just travel you show up 90 Grand in the home arena. It’s really AJ. I believe AJ’s personality is just as infectious outside of Great Britain. Many of us supported him over every other Heavyweight.

But with lie after lie Hearn has skinnied his fan base down to the United Kingdom.

Bro... what Hearn does is anti-promotion. We are in an age were being a perpetual liar is probably the worst thing you can be. So many people lie constantly and people just really want some truth.

People will even accept a serial killer if he was honest about it. We just need something to believe in even if it’s a nightmare.

Hearn literally took us from rooting for AJ to being completely annoyed by everything the duo has to say. All promoters are not the same. People all lie a little bit, but WTF. The guy lies like he can’t remember the truth. It is pushing the fan base away and you can see it in this thread.

Fair enough, though I think they all do it. Look at Arum with his BS, or the times Ortiz/Charlo lied about offers etc etc.

The big difference between them is that Hearn has a big mouth. He'll do 100 interviews a day....100 chances to lie. Nobody else comes close to talking as much as he does. You don't get the chance to scrutinize the times that Arum, Warren, Haymon are being shady ****ers because they don't expose themselves as much, even if you combined them.

I'm from the UK myself and not really a huge AJ fan. He gets the most attention and interest by far, but there's also a huge amount that don't care too much for him personally. The Ruiz loss actually helped his popularity, tbh.

UK culture across all sports is often to like someone as they're on the rise, go off them when they're at the top and then like them more once they've fallen. It happens all the time in boxing, football/soccer, tennis etc.
