One who died young and possibly could be considered a ring tragedy though not on the list, was Akeem Anifowoshe. Akeem rose through the ranks with many of his fights televised on American cable. At 23-0 he challenged Robert Quiroga for the IBF junior bantamweight title. The fight won Ring magazine's fight of the year. Unfortunately after the fight Akeem collapsed and had to have a blood clot removed from his brain. Akeem was never supposed to fight again but a few years later decided to return to the ring. After a sparring and training session he collapsed and died.

Anifowoshe was only 26 at the time of his death.

3 of Floyd opponents are already dead, all in young age.

Also Corrie Sanders, 46 - shot to death in a robbery.

Rocky Lockridge, 60 - health problems from drug use, homelessness, ect (strokes)
Errol Christie (54) was another fighter who passed away due to poor health, I think it was cancer but not certain.

Thanks for the contribution. Errol’s Wikipedia page says he was 53, died of small-cell lung cancer. The brief synopsis of his life is fairly interesting.

Thanks, bro. I already have Greb and Flowers, but the others are a real addition.

Interesting tale, and, as with many of these stories, tragic.

Valero obviously had psychological issues. Terrible that he had to take someone down with him. His boxing career was overshadowed by his actions outside the ring. Just tragic, all the way around.

Ah, yes. Here’s another obvious one that slipped my mind. Thanks. Sonny’s age, as with many things about his life, is shrouded in mystery. He was 39 or 40. Young man.

                      killing him.
Moore actually had a fairly impressive career. Amongst other things, he beat Wilfred Benitez in two rounds. This after being pummeled by an aging Duran in eight. Sucks how Davey met his end.
