Money vs Pac-Man: Who really won?

EPSN Classic replayed it recently, and I have to admit, I felt like it was closer than I remembered it. I had Floyd winning both times, but the rounds he won were generally not far and away dominant. Pac was always in there. It wasn't the best performance from either, but they both were putting in work throughout. Solid contest that I didn't find as boring as people would have you believe.Comment

Floyd didn’t do anything in the fight. Ran, hugged, clinched. I guess that’s winning to Fl 0 m 0 z.
But to me? Manny did more damage. He caused bruising on Floyd’s face, he engaged in combat. Manny was never in danger at all during the bout. Majority of all celebrities and boxers stated they thought Pacquiao won, including Holyfield.
Sorry Floyd fans, ya boy a poo$@y!
Didn’t T.I. punk the snot out of Floyd too?
if Pac really won, you would not have needed to say that
pac-tards have been saying dumb shlt like that for YEARSComment

pac should have won but to say most people think pac won is silly. they dont. pac landed the better punches and i dont even see how anyone could debate that. the people who thought floyd won only have empty platitudes about being in control, ring generalship, shutting pac down, pac couldnt get him, etc...cept all of that is based on preconceived notions of what someone thought should/could happen. no one thought pac could patiently get the better of floyd in a slow paced fight...yet he did. they expected him to be a tornado punching machine from the old days and when that didnt happen well i guess floyd is winning!
another thing they will use is compubox which is complete trash. go watch round 3. it says floyd landed 11 power punches. he landed 0 clean power punches that round. zero. punches that are blocked are not the same as clean punches that snap your opponents head around. these kind of things matter but when you dont care or want a certain person to win you will take shortcuts and overlook things. in that round pac landed at least 6 clean flush shots. guess who the judges gave the round to? im guessing most fans did as well. so thats one round that a lot of people clearly get wrong. if you watch it back even in slow mo if you cant tell what is happening you will see a dominant pac round.
a summary break down of every round:
round 1: clear floyd
round 2: razor razor close, i wouldnt argue either way but floyds quality was a bit better
round 3: clear pac as summarized above, if you cant get this one right, no point moving forward. pac landed a big left and 5 head snapping rights hook/jabs. floyd landed 1 ok jab and 1 maybe grazing jab that was so hard to tell if it even landed evn in slow mo. if we are getting that microscopic is it really a clean punch...
round 4: clear pac
round 5: clear floyd
round 6: clear pac
round 7: clear pac, floyd comes out and throws some right hands but they are all clearly blocked. he lands nothing but jabs in this round and most are the grazing typepac lands a huge counter left hand shot and also a great body shot that makes floyd clinch to recover. several pac jabs snap floyds head around in this round while only one floyd jab is of similar quality to pacs.
round 8: close round, floyd lands a big right hand, best punch of the round is when pac lands 2 left hands back to back and even seems to slightly buckle his legs. also pac lands a right left combo. pacs jab once again snaps floyds head around much more than floyds jab which doesnt land with much force at all. lampley says floyd lands a great left hook when he throws that slappy open handed hook with no force. great left hook? please. pac with the higher overall quality.
round 9: close round. best punch of the round was a pac left. pac also lands 2 more lefts one to the head and one to the body. also a right hand that made floyds head spin around and made him duck and cover. floyd lands a nice clean right hand but without much leverage. some solid jabs and a couple of those tiny push hooks that lampley loves with an open glove which arent exactly legal but even if they were arent worth much. have to go with pac for higher quality.
round 10. clear pac
round 11. clear floyd
round 12: very close but i think floyd had the slightly better quality.
overall i have it 7-5 for pac. he just had the better quality punches. he consistently snapped floyds head around while floyd had real trouble landing cleanly or with force. he kept it close but you have to judge fighter A agaisnt fighter B not pac against himself from previous fights and not floyd from his previous fights. in this fight it was pac with the better punches. the story of the fight was pac was getting leverage on his punches and floyd wasnt. thats why even pacs jab was snapping floyds head around and sending him flying back and pac is not known as a great jabber. floyd meanwhile was so worried about the incoming pac punches that he wasnt willing or able to set his feet and get any leverage. he was constantly on the retreat or thinking about going on the retreat to really land anything all that good.Last edited by daggum; 02-02-2020, 01:42 PM.Comment
