i remember when people were saying canelo fighting kirkland was a good fight? that made no sense at all to me seeing as he had just been washed by ishida in one round. then they tried to say canelo was taking a risk by fighting paul williams...who had just been ko'd cold and dominated by lara. oh and then it was victor ortiz...a ww who had just been ko'd.

The only ones saying Kirkland was a good opponent for Canelo was Canelo fan boys lol, I remember a lot of people writing Kirkland off because of the layoff...Paul Williams despite his Lara "win" and KO by Martinez was still viewed as a legit threat to the then green Canelo and Ortiz was lined up for a Canelo shot until Lopez upended those plans.i remember when people were saying canelo fighting kirkland was a good fight? that made no sense at all to me seeing as he had just been washed by ishida in one round. then they tried to say canelo was taking a risk by fighting paul williams...who had just been ko'd cold and dominated by lara. oh and then it was victor ortiz...a ww who had just been ko'd.Comment

They went all out, every day. Or at least the days I was there.
Even sparring was done with full force. It's the only gym where I've heard sparring referred to as "fighting".
Based on the sparring sessions I saw there, it's safe to say Kirkland has taken a lot more damage in training than he has in his actual fights.
Her style worked for Kirkland in terms of him being at his finest when he fought, but it definitely took years out of his career.Comment

She trained a few, but none as successful as Kirkland.
Her daughter even had a few pro fights.
Several years ago one of her guys who competed (just as an amateur iirc) killed a man after a car accident. He was found Not Guilty at trial.Comment
