I remember thinking a few years ago that Shelestyuk looked solid and might be able to make it to fringe contender status, he's not gonna get there. Dude is pretty simple and doesn't excel at anything, reminds me a bit of Brad Skeete but not as long

97-93 and 98-92 X2 for Shelstyuk, but it was once again uninspiring against a South American level opponent. It's sink or swim time for him. Put him against somebody like Terrel Williams or Giovanni Santillan. If he wins, match him with a real contender, if he loses, never put him on TV again

Expecting an 8-2/9-1 type win for Villa tonight

Villa is very solid, good B level fighter but he doesn't have the elite skills to make him a true contender

It's too bad Villa has zero power

Wide UD for Villa as expected. I'd like to see him against a gatekeeper type like Manny Robles, Manuel Avila, Emilio Sanchez, somebody along those lines. Those fights could be very competitive, but he's so high up in the WBO rankings that they will probably match him carefully against other guys ranked by the WBO until he's given a title shot or final eliminator. Expect him to face somebody like Antonio Soares or Bryan Chevalier next

Ruben Villa advanced another step toward a featherweight world title shot Friday night. The elusive, skillful southpaw expertly out-boxed rugged Cuban veteran Alexei Collado in their 10-round, 126-pound fight in Shreveport, Louisiana. Each judge Pat Dayton (99-91), Todd Singletary (98-92) and Keith Thibadeaux (98-92) scored the bout by huge margins for the unbeaten, 22-year-old Villa, of Salinas, California.

wasn't it in NOLA? Do they have Hockey arenas in NOLA?

Speaking of which, the Coyotes are good this year, and one of the best players in the world is from Phoenix. You getting into the sport? lol

I think it was some local rink in Shreveport I'm actually a Rangers fan and how much hockey I watch pretty much depends on how good the Blueshirts are. Starting to get there with some of the younger guys, think we are probably a year away from contending again. I did catch the final period of our win over Detroit last night, so that was cool. Planning to catch the game when they come out here in March

Yeah, I'm a Blackhawks fan myself, so I haven't caught too many games this season with my shift change and the injuries. I hope Panarin is playing well for you guys though.
