I caught a glimpse a Japanese fellow once or twice. Wasn't sure if it was him or not....

There’s another book I’ve read it’s by a Eastern European author, I’ll get the name now, but it’s called The Last Empire and that book looks at the final days of the Soviet Union and the lasting legacy it’s had on Eastern Europe. Serhii Plokhy is the author.
Cool, I'll look into them, thanks!

        I agree with this ^.
I voted for the Uzbek to win a close decision but thought the ex Champ did enough work to keep his titles.
Akhmadaliev would land some decent power / pot shots and try to steal rounds in the last seconds.
But I didn't see many rounds where I would say he controlled the action.

It was close and I was not surprised at all that it was a split decision. DAZN commentary crew was not giving Roman credit. But I did give Akhmadaliev the fight, if only by a round. I'm a fan of Roman, think he's underrated as hell and Akhmadaliev being able to compete at that level was impressive. Really thought he'd lose.

Yeah he was swinging and missing a lot for me, and was hitting arms and gloves a lot.

I feel like he wastes a lot of energy with a lot of unnecessary movement, he needs to learn the art of ring generalship, as you say he needs to learn how to control the action.

But tbf it’s only his 8th pro fight so it’s very impressive he’s able to go toe to toe with an experienced champion like Roman.

I actually did score the fight 115-113 to Roman but I’m fine with the decision felt like a 7-5 either way type fight.

Yeah. I have no problem with 115 - 113 either way.
I'm a bit bias since I consider Roman a friend. But like Roman once told me. Although he's been the defending champ it seems he always gets the B side treatment.

I think Iwasa would make a competitive fight, but would eventually be KO'd. He's too hit-able and MJ is too strong, would be great while it lasted but can't see it finishing any other way.
                Good break down on Iwasa.
                I see the same outcome.
He wasn't looking too good a few months back in sparring with Roman.
                Roman stops Iwasa late
Akhmadaliev stops him before the 10th.

Yeah he seems a good dude. Didn’t whine or complain about the decision. Hopefully he get’s a rematch later this year.
