To the north is Kazakhstan where GGG is from. East is Kyrgyzstan where Bivol is from. People consider these countries Russia when you can see they're closer to the middle east lol.
Any good books you would recommend? I'd be interested in learning about the differences between a lot of those former Soviet republics

To be honest with you, I just start reading articles and such online and I'll go into a rabbit hole. It's not uncommon for me to have 20 tabs open for me to read at any given time. Even Wikipedia has a lot of fantastic knowledge. Everything is always cited, so I don't know why people say it's not a legit place for information. If you don't like it, just click one of the cited sources and read it from there )

How about recommendations for the history of Native people up that way? I know this country's garbage history but when it comes to Canana, I know very little.

The Road to Unfreedom by Timothy Snyder chronicles the USSR from it’s inception and draws comparisons with modern day Russia ideologically.

There’s another book I’ve read it’s by a Eastern European author, I’ll get the name now, but it’s called The Last Empire and that book looks at the final days of the Soviet Union and the lasting legacy it’s had on Eastern Europe. Serhii Plokhy is the author.
