What Happened to GOLOVKIN's Hype? Secret SNAC Transformation coming?

You guessed wrong. It was a sham offer based on the money and weight demands. It looks like most of your list consists of middleweight fighters. Why would Golovkin need to budge on weight for a MW? The only non-MW names I see are Lara and Ward. If I recall correctly, Golovkin did offer to budge in weight for Ward, so that leaves you with Lara.Comment

That's speculative. Let's just deal in facts, please. Thank you.
Wait.. lets back up a second. You mean the weight that the other poster just contended that Golovkin was unwilling to budge from? That weight is the one you mean?Last edited by GGG Gloveking; 01-30-2020, 09:06 AM.Comment

Cotto won MW title at 159 and fought at 157 and 155 and Canelo won MW title at 155. Neither of those guys, established A-side stars, made a fuss about Catchweights. It looks like most of your list consists of middleweight fighters. Why would Golovkin need to budge on weight for a MW? Canelo made 152 for Floyd and 155 for Cotto.
Cotto made 145 for Pacquiao
But GGG who was 32 years old and fighting guys like Praksa and Rosario (literal journeymen) refused to make any concessions. So, yeah, GGG had to wait for those fights. That's what happens.Comment

It looks like the point you're trying to make is that because other fighters fought at a catch, then Golovkin should be required to do so. My point is that a fight for any belt should occur at the full limit of the division, and that fights between fighters of the same class, should occur at the division in which they both compete.Cotto won MW title at 159 and fought at 157 and 155 and Canelo won MW title at 155. I disagree with the assertion that just because established A-side fighters do something, then it is acceptable. Case in point, Canelo tested positive for clenbuterol. Just because he did it, and he's an A-side, doesn't make consumption of illegal substances acceptable. I feel the same way about catch-weights. Just because Floyd, Manny, and Canelo do it, doesn't make it right.Comment

BINGO and let’s not forget about the “Anyone from 154-168” comment out of GGG’s own mouth.Cotto won MW title at 159 and fought at 157 and 155 and Canelo won MW title at 155. Neither of those guys, established A-side stars, made a fuss about Catchweights.

How? most people had him beating the guy that is considered an ATG already, Canelo. At 36 years old. And the next year, a fight that could have gone either way, at 37 yo, again most people had him winning.
Golovkin was avoided during his prime for a reason, but now he's enjoying 100 times more money you will ever make and very happy with his business.Comment
