Fights that brought you to tears

I'll set it off... Holyfield vs Tyson 1 brought me to tears. I was a kid at the time. This was back when if you didn't order the PPV, you had to go to the channel and listen to the voices/action while trying to make of what you can the squiggly lines on the tv. Anyway, I'm sitting there listening to the commentary and after the first 3 rounds, I remember thinking "Holyfield has a chance in this".

This was a time when beating Tyson was almost as impossible as surviving 10 flush shots on Mike Tyson's Punch Out; just wasn't happening.

Fast forward, I remember hearing Bobby Cyzs's voice "It's over, he did it", then I remember being overcome with emotion as I ran downstairs to tell my best friend, at the time, my 70 year old grandmother (RIP), what happen and then being overcome with emotion.

Anyway, this was my story.... Anyone have similar experiences?

The closest I was to crying for a fight is the first Kovalev vs Alvarez.

I was about to bet on Alvarez by knockout in the second half of the fight, then I thought "naaah, it can't happen". Would have won a nice lump with that.

I’ve never been close to tears lol. But some memorable moments

              Corrales Castillo 1
Judah KO Spinks in St Louis
Easter beating Commey for belt (he is a friend)

For some reason I always go back to that moment Zab jumped on the ropes in a packed house in STL after taking out Spinks and spread his arms open. The silence was a crazy scene.

I’ve never been in tears at a fight, but a young kid I know suffered a bleed on his brain fighting for an area title, when I got the news that hit me hard.

Seeing Fury and Truax fulfil lifelong dreams in person was a great feeling.

Hatton dethroning Tszyu and Frampton beating Santa Cruz are some of the happiest I’ve been leaving an arena.

And even though I’m not exactly a huge fan of the guy anymore, seeing Bellew who I remember as a fat HW at Rotunda ABC win a world title at Goodison Park was incredible- and as a lifelong Everton fan I really related to how special that would’ve been for him.

That would’ve been horrible watch live, it was before my time so I’ve only ever rewatched it but just watching a completely shot Ali taking a sustained beating is painful.

Some of later Roy fights were a really tough watch for me personally.

Yeah it was hard to watch Roy taking the punishment he did after all that greatness.I guess the money and fame is to hard to walk away from.
