I was always told that a chin is something you were born with. Some guys can take a shot others can not. Sure you can do things to minimize that hard shot> roll with the punch position, body movement but until a guy gets in the ring and gets hit.? that is one thing you have to wait and see. I believe there is a lot of truth to that take on taking a punch. It is one of the big points of what makes up a fighter.

I think it’s something you have or don’t.

Froch had a quite pointy head and narrow chin, but he had a granite chin. So i don’t think the shape of it is really a factor.

There is definitely factors like conditioning, making weight correctly etc. But i think for the most part, you either have it or don’t. You can probably do things to make improvements, but it’ll never be a drastic change. Just like you can train to improve speed and power if you’re a slower fighter or lighter puncher, but you’re never going to improve them that much if you’re not blessed naturally. So i think a chin is the same.

Structure and working out on you neck helps but the biggest problem is people box with there chin up most of the time. It should ALWAYS BE TUCKED. Mental constitution is another thing.

You think Amir khan isn’t determined? Overall positioning has to be included on that list. Keeping from being hit flush may be the most important.

Look at the Canelo vs Khan poster. That is the cranial difference between a glass jaw and iron jaw

Canelo and Oscar are both pretty boys too btw. But their skull is more robust
