  • Comments Thread For: Joseph Parker: After My Next Fight There Are A lot of Big Fights That We Can Make

Joseph Parker is aiming to have a big year in 2020. The former WBO heavyweight champion only fought once in 2019, stopping Alex Leapai in June. He was slated to face Dereck Chisora in October but those plans were scuttled when he fell ill to the effects of a spider bite he suffered in his native New Zealand.

(huge yawn) Parker loses every fight he steps up in. He is a classic gatekeeper who can beat the ok guys but will lose to the best of the division. He just doesn't have it in him to win the big ones. But the team behind him will get him at least one more shot, in which he will loose again in hahah.

He went toe to toe with Andy Ruiz (the fit version) and beat him, and became the heavyweight champ of the world. Something AJ failed at.

AJ was too scared to go toe to toe with blimp version of Ruiz.

Except a world title fight against Andy Ruiz. Losing to Joshua and Whyte hardly makes you a gatekeeper.

Parker is one of the top 4 best in the division which is why none of the 'ok guys' want to fight him.

          They know they'd probably lose...

I like Parker, want to see him do well but he's not in many entertaining fights. He's athletic, has some pop and appears to have a chin. At most levels he will do just enough to win (Leapai, Cojanu, Ruiz, Takam, Fury, etc) and at higher levels do just enough to lose (AJ, Whyte),

His approach to fights will make this the standard form for most matxhups. The irony is that I think he could be much more than he is but it's just not in him.

I think AJ should be giving Parker a second shot at his Titles!

I only had Joshua beating pecker by a point or 2. Neither guy did enough to win.

Why couldn't any big fights be made now after a stay busy fight with Leapai? Why do we not have an opponent four weeks out. David Higgins was talking up the quality of the opponent so what gives. I expect this fight to be rubbish and a waste of time.
