The amount of money he made against PAC (1.2 million) probably goes a looooonnng way in Africa.
The interview he says “it was an off night”? He had a lot of excuses. Bringing up that he ate some food at a friends that made him feel weird for example. Didn’t think he insinuated fit was rigged, but I have seen people taking the quotes like “God wanted me to lose that night” as admittance. Which I don’t get.

Yeah i never saw him say it... I just start seeing articles saying he implied it.

If he wasn't known to become passive in his fights and basically let guys steal rounds then i would have believed it...

But he did it vs Cotto
      ( still should have won)
He let hurt Cotto steal rounds when he should have finished him

Pac put it on him. He didnt expect to get hit that hard and that fsat by a smaller guy. If you get achance watch the interview with Nassim Richardson, about Pac when he was training Moseley to fight him. Classic.

There were alot of bigger welters back then. Clottey, Forrest, Cintron, and to a lesser extent an older Quartey. You dont see as many big welters now as you did then.

Joshua Clottey would fit nicely into to the top 3/4 of the division. Him Crawford and Spence would be the stand out 3. I said 4 cuz im not convinced Manny can handle the current top 2, not these days but hes doing too well just to just dismiss right now. But Clottey held his own in what id call arguably a stronger division.

I think Clottey's earmuff defense and counter-punching style while effective at times, also worked against him at times keeping him from excelling at the highest levels. He did a great job against the smaller Corrales but needed more offence in other fights.

He was good and he beat Cotto in my opinion. I don't think he could beat Spence, Pacquiao or Crawford but he might beat any other welterweight fighting now.

True but he was a monster on the inside with those short uppercuts.

Lets not forget those right hands bouncing off Cotto's head all night long. That was Cotto at 147 not at a catchweight btw

Clottey vs his hometown guy, Ike Quartey would have been a hell of a fight if their primes lined up. Because of his defense and chin, I'd go with him over Danny Garcia.

I think Clottey vs Spence stylistically would be a great back in forth fight...
But he always had a problem letting his hands go so i feel like he would find a way to shoot himself in the foot and lose... Then cry about the decision lol

hed be a top ten contender, hed beat some lower end guys like lipinets, but he wont be busy enough to outwork Porter, Spence, crawford clearly beats him so does Danny Garcia, hed beat Redkach and guys like that
