Now this would be a good fight across the pond:

Frank Warren keen on Daniel Dubois-Joe Joyce EBU title fight

Daniel Dubois could continue his path to a world heavyweight championship with an EBU title fight against Joe Joyce, promoter Frank Warren said.

Whyte vs Povetkin will only look good on paper because of "past resume". Otherwise, I see no quality in Povetkin that should trouble Whyte...in terms of height, reach, power, aggression, youth, build.

Experience and skill can only take you so far in an advance age without power. Ali had skills and experience but was losing in his late 30s (agreed a lack of training and his illness contributed to it). Foreman had power and KO'ed people in his 40s. For this reason, I would even favor Luis Ortiz over Povetkin at this stage of their career.

Ortiz barely managed to stop Kaufmann , Ortiz hasn’t stopped a decent fighter in 5 years but bring up past resumes? Your post is a classic example of the contradictory posts on here , Povetkin has great timing and decent power still the Hunter fight showed that .

You created a Foreman and Ortiz comparison based on what exactly ? I don’t even think Ortiz defeats Briggs a few years back .

I think you're just reading too much into it. I am NOT comparing the power of Foreman with Ortiz. And that is just an example.

Neither Ortiz nor Povetkin, at this age, are in their prime. But, yes, Ortiz looks to be a slightly more powerful puncher than Povetkin right now.

It's unfortunate that every HW discussion devolves into a proxy war between Wilder and AJ supporters/haters or even network/promotions camps. I remember when it was the case with Pac/Floyd at welterweight, Hovslev/Ward at LHW and GGG/Canelo at middleweight.

To the actual fights in the article, I think their good matchups. Povetkin is old and has miles on the odometer but I was surprised by his performance against Hunter (who i rate very highly).

I think Whyte would be the prohibitive favorite in both matchups but not by much. I would definitely be interested in watching either.
