Where’s the criticism for Canelo vs Murata

Oh wait, I guess this is proof that we all universally agree Canelo deserves to chill for a bit

as long as we all agree that the fight is a cherrypick or soft touch... no need to defend or hype murata, it is what it is...

Canelo should just fight BJS at 168. No one wants to see Canelo-Muata, besides DAZN executives and Murata himself

I thought GGG-Murata would have been a fun fight. I think this will be too if it happens.

Call me crazy but I’m hoping that Canelo just gos in and gives Murata a proper schooling. I would hate to see him KOd in front of the Japanese ppl

Your absolutely right but we don’t know how difficult Andrade and BJS are trying to be at negotiations.

I put up this thread because I always criticized GGG when they mentioned Murata

If he fights Murata It's a great win based on how Murata destroyed Brant(most other fighters like Hurd would've avoided an instant rematch after getting schooled by Brant who su****iously threw an unbelievable amount of punches for a mw,but Murata proved hes a true Samurai) & because hes the wba champ anyways(muratas mando)so Murata is another great win on Nelos mantle for cinco de mayo it would be huge in both Japan/Mexico & create a new rivalry between the 2.

But thats a big if on whether or not he does fight Murata next,(that would likely be an action packed fight worthy of cinco de mayo instead of duds like chavez jr),it would keep nelos streak going of fighting beltholders back to back for many fights in a row,the problem is that few know who Murata is in the US/Mex/UK(nelos biggest 3 markets)& theres much better options for him to fight at 160,168,175 who would draw better & garner more prestige, though Murata would be a barnburner & would actually be entertaining.

It's funny because most people would criticize Canelo for fighting Billy Joe Saunders too since Saunders is coming off a sub-par performance. I don't love Canelo-Murata but I can understand it since Murata brings a huge audience in a largely untapped market. I'm also curious to see if Canelo will go all the way back down to 160 for that fight.

You make great points. I think Murata is being considered because he potentially represents a 4th market for Canelo to tap into. After all, Murata is basically a national hero in Japan and his win in the Brant rematch was indeed impressive.
