A good fight for Canelo is matching him up with someone that is not obvious he would beat. The issue is there aren't a lot of reasonable opponents we think can beat Canelo. For example, I think Canelo would totally beat Smith or Saunders. Maybe Canelo should fight the one haters give him the most credit for.

If Canelo isn’t a star then who is? Is this like Highlander where there can be only one or what?

Hope he fights Saunders, a top level challenge in his prime. People want to see him in fights he might lose or at least be flustered.

Canelo vs Smith at Wembley in front of 90,000 would be awesome, can't see it happening but you never know.

Risked his life against guys like Ggg and kovakev and still didn't win fotd?. Nel o must feel a like why should I bother with all this?
He won't try doing more, he will do less, the precedent has been set. One fight a year for next 6 years

World champions should take the show on the road at least once, it grows the sport and stops them always having home advantage.

Japan would go absolutely nuts if Canelo came over for the Murata fight which, according to Manix, is in serious consideration.

True, and if the backyard fighters gets hometown controversial decision you must rematch in opponents backyard.

By definition, Canelo is a big star if people make him out to be a big star.

... since 2013 (i.e. that Floyd match), Canelo isn't fighting anymore -- he only delivers "paydays" to various people...
