  • Anthony Joshua

AJ used to be seen as the best of the best at HW, and he was set to make more money for himself than TMT. A real bogeyman.

Now, one year and one reality check later and he’s been completely dismantled by a part-time boxer / construction worker with heavy hands and a big beer belly. He just recently won a very jittery rematch on points in which he fought terrified against said construction worker who did not even train at all — unless you count throwing back a couple dozen six-packs and taking several plates per meal of various sushi, tacos, and other delicious foods.

This leaves me wondering who of the current crop Joshua can beat. His rematch win against Ruiz does not tell us much.

How do you think Joshua fares in these hypothetical matchups?

    Joshua v. Fury

    Joshua v. Wilder

    Joshua v. Usyk

    Joshua v. Pulev

    Joshua v. Hunter

    Joshua v. Dubois

    Joshua v. Whyte (rematch)

    Joshua v. Parker (rematch)

Joshua beats the Fury that showed up against Otto Wallin but loses a decision to the one that fought Wilder

I have to favor Wilder to catch AJ at this point

Haven't seen much from Usyk at heavyweight (beating Chazz Witherspoon doesn't tell us much) so for now I favor Joshua

AJ beats Pulev by decision. Pulev is still solid but getting long in the tooth

Joshua stops Hunter late, he's just on a higher level

Dubois is talented but I can't pick him over AJ right now

    AJ stops Dillian Whyte again

AJ probably stops Parker this time.

Josh fury - fury on points in a good close fight .

Josh vs wilder - wilder via KO mid rounds .

Joshua vs usyk - iam torn on this. I think usyk has the style to give joshua fits . He doesnt seem to like fighting short guys and usyk has skills but until I see usyk fight a live bodie at heavy I will go with joshua via decision or tko .

Josh vs pulev - joshua via one sided KO .

Joshua vs hunter- another sleeper like usyk . Hunter has looked pretty good at heavyweight but simular pick to vs usyk except : joshua via late round KO , or UD

Josh vs dubois - too early for dubois . Josh via KO if he doesnt get clipped but give ddd a few higher level fights and he may be the next champion of the world.

Josh vs whyte rematch- right now joshua via savage ko . Whyte hasnt looked good but also could very well clip joshua .

Joshua vs parker - another boring UD .

Joshua beats them all. Wilder and Fury would rather risk an L fighting each other for less than take a guaranteed L against Joshua. Fury turned down over 20 mil to fight Joshua and we all know what Wilder ducked. Ortiz, Whyte and Fatnacki all turned down career paydays too. Joshua is the most avoided fighter in the sport. FACT.

Just curious, do you actually believe the stuff you type? I know you really like AJ, but come on...

It's facts. All of them turned down career high paydays to fight Joshua last year.

There are other factors that go into making a fight, venue, promoters and money, just because you think they didn't take it to avoid a fight with AJ is pure speculation, Floyd turned down fights with Mosley and DLH and everyone called him stupid and scared, he then started his own promotion company and fought them and made 10x the amount he would have under Arum. When fighters fight, they aren't scared, might as well tell you, otherwise they wouldn't be doing this as a sport.

No fighter walks away from career high purses to fight tougher fighters for less. Wilder and Fury think they have a better chance against each other than Joshua.

No Floyd didn't. Floyd left Top Rank to fight DLH, because Bob didn't want it..

Robbie, please for once have some integrity. No promoter is going to agree to have a top tier boxer like a Fury or a Wilder fight AJ on dazn when Hearn, AJ's promoter, owns dazn.

You don't put your fighter in a position where he cedes control of everything to AJ just for a huge payday if you feel your fighter can make significant money down the road by beating AJ. You want the fight to be on as even terms as possible.

Why do you insist on framing this in such a childish way? Is it just because people laughed at and made jokes about AJ when he lost to Ruiz?

So you're saying Wilder and Fury won't fight Joshua? We already know that we don't need you to invent a lame excuse.
