Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: I Think 168 Would Be A Nice Move For Canelo

Saul Canelo' Alvarez remains without an opponent for his next fight, although there has come an indication of the weight at which he will land. The four-division and reigning World middleweight king is considering a number of his options for his ring return, which will likely take place May 2 as part of a pre-Cinco de Mayo celebration weekend. Rumors have him fighting at super middleweight-a welcome landing pad, having fought at light heavyweight and middleweight in his two prior starts.

De La Hoya must be high if he actually said 147 might be difficult for Canelo.... 147 is gonna be impossible at this point in Canelo's career he'd be so weight drained he couldn't walk much less fight. 168 is a good fit for him right now. I'd like to see him in with Benavidez at 168 that'd be a fun fight to watch

Nah, he was referring to himself with the 147 thing. He's was comparing it to the effort it might take Canelo to make 160.Pretty amazing considering its just a few short years ago he was doing 155 claiming he was too small to fight at full middle.

          Interesting weight

Does not matter for De la Hoyas meal ticket - he will supply the judges as previously and as long as his boy stays out of trouble it's another multi million Dollar pay day .
Doubt me - think triple G

Tired of these Michael Scott fights.

We already know, you bounce around looking for whoever's vulnerable.

What about "triple G"? His best accomplishment is a DRAW with Canelo and a controversial decision over Jacobs...and he LOST to Dervenchenko...ffs

And while the rematch was close on round by round scoring...Canelo physically manhandled GGG. And it was still a close but clear win for Cinnamon.

You GGG kids are insane lol

Can he become Undisputed at one weight class? It's certainly possible, but is he willing to take the fights necessary to do it?
