I couldn't tell you where he spent most of his formative years but It seems to me Lopez has developed quite a bit of a fanbase in NY, he and Top Rank seem to rep that quite a bit and he's fought there at least about half a dozen times.

In a similar vein, Gatti was born and raised in Italy then spent time in Canada before relocating to north Jersey. He fought a ton in AC and it was definitely a home field advantage for him. While AC and Jersey City are both in NJ, the former has more ties to Philadelphia and the latter to NY.

I digress but the point is that you can still have a home field advantage even if it's technically not your home. If I was Loma, I'd be more concerned about the judges and referee selected rather than the crowd.

We all know Arum wants Lopez to win to set up a rematch. Arum stole Pacs wins vs Bradley and Horn and he will do it again because it would graduate Lopez into an A side money maker. Loma already is an A side moneymaker.

Lomachenko fan base in new York is bigger than Lopez. Lopez is still an undercard fighter. Loma had headlined in New York plenty of times. What are you talking about?

GGG vs Danny Jacobs is a good example. Jacobs is actually from Brooklyn but the crowd and the judges were pro GGG

That's a completely different argument; I don't think I recall talking about Lomachenko's fanbase at all..I was referencing a fighter's ability to develop a "hometown" fanbase in an area where he may not have actually lived.

I stated that Lomachenko shouldn't worry about the fans just the referee and judges. I'm aware that Lomachenko, like most Ukrainian fighters, has a large fan base that will travel along the east coast to support their fighters (I've seen it firsthand). I couldn't tell you what the exact split would be if they held the fight in NY but I would expect alot of yellow and blue flags.

I would be interested in the links that reference Lomachenko's concerns. If there are no links, can you let us know how you came about the information? I'm very curious.

While I've never been a cornerman, fought professionally or know every rumor in boxing, I've followed professional boxing for 30+ years and have had the pleasure of knowing and being friends with various fighters, trainers and promoters.

Some proper non-sense and also incredible pretentious.
If you want to talk about something on a forum while making claims, use proper sources.

You can't expect everyone to go through all interviews and articles, the reasonable thing to do is to link a source.
You also have the reputation to spin stories to fit your agenda.

Arum says this fight belongs in New York.

If Lomachenko is so good he really shouldn't have any problem with this location.
