take canelos name off his resume and it barely stands up....you can take golovkins off of canelos and his still stands

yes golovkins resume today is much better with canelo on it twice..i dont think anyone disputes that...add a solid chenko too it also

but it used to stink to the high heavens...i dont care about what anyone says about top 10 or top 5 guys he beat...most of them stunk...guys like geale were getting blown out by WW cotto....guys like stevens had lost to D level club guys

yes today his resume is better...it used to be pretty bad....i think youre bringing up something that was said a few years ago and trying to defend it with a present day resume which is much improved....

Yeah, the people who **** on names like Macklin, Geale, Murray, Lemieux etc. were all top 5 in the division at the time. They also talk about how awful G is while noting it's Canelos best win lol

Right...I mean those guys are not exactly HOFers but they are more than enough to give problems to most fighters...that GGG had no real issues with any guys like that is just really impressive to me.

He arguably beat Canelo twice. Even with a draw and close decision loss one can say he has the second best resume alongside Canelo. But these are the same casuals who will fight you to the death to convince you that Charlo and Andrade are the top dogs at 160. Funny thing is, they don’t allow that same standard to be applied to any fighter outside of PBC. Charlo is supposedly ducked and avoided by everyone, but those same fanboys insist Crawford fought no one and he is avoiding PBC fighters. Can’t make this shyt up.

Thanks...I meant I feel he has a strong resume overall for most fighters today, or even compared to past greats...he would clearly have a better resume than Andrade or Charlo at this time, but with that being said, that doesn't mean he is still the top current guy at 160...I really have no idea honestly who the top guy is there right now.

Would have still said GGG as I felt he beat Canelo twice (can't see Canelo getting 6 rounds in either fight, just can't)...but GGG did have a very tough fight with SD in my eyes, so I just can't really say how all those guys stack up against each other at this moment.

Hopefully we get some good fights with those guys this year or next.

GGG is #2 in his weight division on Boxrec. That's not possible without a strong resume.

How many times are you going to revisit this garbage. You make this same exact thread every month or so. Give it a rest. Those that think gggs resume is garbage still think so and those that think it's good still think so and those that think it's somewhere in the middle still think so.

I only get on here occasionally really, or sporadically...the fact that we never get to see the big fights when we want them kind of has me sour on the business of boxing at this time.

But when I got on and saw JRock got stopped in 5 in a stay busy fight, I was shocked...one of the first things I thought of was again how impressive it was imo that GGG never had close to a moment like that in his career...so I made a thread about it.

I like to talk boxing and felt it was a good discussion point.

He has decent win, but not the ATG resume some try to make it out to be..He was a solid fighter and will make it to the hall of fame

people diss GGG for not fighting Andre Ward the way Canelo fought Kovalev. Ward was obv far far better than the version of Kovalev that showed up vs Canelo. Canelo has some ability to move up in weight overnight in ways i cant fathom...how does he do it?
vs amir khan, weighed in 154? 155? i dont remember but on fight night he was 30lbs heavier.
Canelo is built like that but most boxers no matter how good can never do that and come back down.

Yeah will be interesting to see what Canelo's future holds as far as what weights he continues to fight at

Thanks...to the bold part, I would again just say that while a lot of those guys he fought were certainly no ATGs...they were really solid fighters that most fighters would have had a bad fight or two and probably a couple losses in there...that GGG never did is impressive to me.
