    Just for the record

When people give me sh.it for saying GGG has a really good resume...I say it in large part because of fights/losses like JRock's loss to this guy I've never heard of.

Most fighters, even the greats when you look at things historically, when you put them in there against a solid pro, they will have nights where they struggle, or even lose...when you have 10 or so fights like that, a really good fighter like JRock may lose a few of them, or at least have some really tough fights in there.

Besides Derevychenko (and he may be a top fighter anyway...but that fight he had with Culcay still has me considering him to be not quite the top level...and GGG was not exactly in his prime for that fight either), GGG has dominated all the solid pros like that, that he has faced...no I don't include Wade in there...yes Macklin Ishida Rosado Ouma Proksa etc, even guys on that level, you would have to include as a solid win over a real pro fighter.

I think the 2 Canelo fights and the Jacobs fight were clear for GGG but I don't even really want to get into that part of it...it's more the fact that GGG has dominated 15 or so guys at or above the level or Rosario that I wanted to highlight.

Just felt this was a good opportunity to point out why I rate GGG's resume as really strong...I know some on here have been apoplectic when I've made that case before.

The folks who dog GGGs resume are fanboys or dummies. Hes got one of the best resumes at 160 w/o argument.

Sh^t man any clear top 3 guy in even a relatively uncompetitive division has one of the best resumes in that division almost by default.

Thanks...and yeah I would say my view on GGG's resume is that it is very strong overall pfp currently, and not just at 160...and that his run at 160 would stack up well with past greats like Monzon or Hagler.

But it certainly is fair to debate about how stacked or not that division was during GGG's dominant run there...I think it was about average, or the fights he had during that run overall, were not an exceptional group but also not bad either...but maybe it was below average, I could probably be persuaded to that but based on my analysis it looked pretty solid overall.

Yeah, the people who **** on names like Macklin, Geale, Murray, Lemieux etc. were all top 5 in the division at the time. They also talk about how awful G is while noting it's Canelos best win lol

He arguably beat Canelo twice. Even with a draw and close decision loss one can say he has the second best resume alongside Canelo. But these are the same casuals who will fight you to the death to convince you that Charlo and Andrade are the top dogs at 160. Funny thing is, they don’t allow that same standard to be applied to any fighter outside of PBC. Charlo is supposedly ducked and avoided by everyone, but those same fanboys insist Crawford fought no one and he is avoiding PBC fighters. Can’t make this shyt up.

GGG is #2 in his weight division on Boxrec. That's not possible without a strong resume.

How many times are you going to revisit this garbage. You make this same exact thread every month or so. Give it a rest. Those that think gggs resume is garbage still think so and those that think it's good still think so and those that think it's somewhere in the middle still think so.

He has decent win, but not the ATG resume some try to make it out to be..He was a solid fighter and will make it to the hall of fame

people diss GGG for not fighting Andre Ward the way Canelo fought Kovalev. Ward was obv far far better than the version of Kovalev that showed up vs Canelo. Canelo has some ability to move up in weight overnight in ways i cant fathom...how does he do it?
vs amir khan, weighed in 154? 155? i dont remember but on fight night he was 30lbs heavier.
Canelo is built like that but most boxers no matter how good can never do that and come back down.

He's starting to say he is likely to stay above 160. After the mid twenties it's harder to shed weight.
