no, he wouldnt have made more money fighting kell brook. at most he'd earn £5m vs kell...lose and then not get anymore paydays.
by skipping that fight, he's made $5m vs canelo, $5m vs crawford, $7m vs billy dib..and can still make around £2.5m-3m in the uk for the kell brook fight. Eddie has even said that matchroom will prob lose money putting on that fight paying AK, but they want to make the fight.
people would still watch it..even if they dont want to watch it, if its on, they'll watch it.
Not sure how you became an expert of measuring “IQ’s”. So you are saying my statement is so impressive it is the equivalent of five Intelligence Quotient tests? Thank you but that’s a bit too much praise for what was very little effort. Believe me I don’t need to apply much intellect to respond to this nonsense.

If these numbers are right it sounds like bad business all around for Hearn and company.

What was Hearn paying for the name and ignoring fight potential?

Tell me why would anyone pay Amir Kahn 7 million to fight Billy Dib? Who even watched that garbage? Just because you didn’t have to pay. Billy Dib that much, doesn’t mean you give Kahn the excess for fighting a no hoper non attraction? What a terrible investment.

The Canelo fight was 1000% bigger and he should have paid Kahn 5 million for that? After all we all knew it was a certain knock out and that Khan’s momentum would be hurt? But people would watch.

However outside of Canelo, none of the fights after signing with Hearn were worth what He paid for them. Samuel Vargas, Phil Lo Greco, Bill Dib?

Lol... Further reinforces that Hearn was getting mugged by Al Haymon management.

But this is where the story gets shakier. Please tell me why Kahn would only get two to 3 million to fight Brook when it was the biggest fight he could be in? You just said he got paid 7 million for Dib?

Even Hearn cited it was a major reason for bringing Kahn in. So could it be these other bad decisions reduced the size of what was still a major fight?

Bottom line is if Khan beats Brook his stock price is even higher for each of these subsequent certain KO fights.

The only way this is great decision making is if Kahn knew he could not beat Brook. If thats the case then the reality would be Kahn ducked Brook for fights that wouldn’t impact his legacy quite as much.

From the outside the Brook fight was big and winnable. The world would have been watching.

DAZN would have had a “much better” start and earned a reputation for bringing us fights previously impossible to make. But instead we get Kahn vs. Phil Lo Greco at a premium? Thanks for exposing how ****** DAZN was.

          alright chill out.
im certain amir gets beat by kell..and he knows it. so it made sense for amir to just market himself in a way that allowed him to make that extra money via canelo, crawford and billy dib. regardless of people wanting to watch him or not, people still pay him more because of his ethnicity and past.
he's a bigger name than kell brook, always has been.
had he lost to kell brook then all other other paydays were out of the question.

i dont think hes in the sport to win, hasnt been for a long time.

wtf are you fannying over dazn for? amir khan vs phil lo greco wasnt even a dazn fight. it was a sky sports uk fight.

kell brook vs amir khan is a uk fight anyway, dazn might broadcast it, but would americans really care for that?
also, amir khan came back from 2 yrs out, was he meant to fight kell brook? are you stoned?

Nobody cares anymore, I certainly don’t.

I’d like to see Brook gather some momentum, regular fights and have one last run at it. I think he still has something left to offer if he stays active

A: Don’t know, Kell hasn’t looked that hot either... not since Spence. He is strong but wasn’t a big concussive puncher. If the Kahn that showed up early against Canelo came out it becomes an Interesting fight..

so it made sense for amir to just market himself in a way that allowed him to make that extra money via canelo, crawford and billy dib.

A: Think the impact is on legacy. The shame is he was afraid of letting it play out, so he just conceded through selling wolf tickets and ducking. Not a good look for someone who once had a great reputation as a fighter. Didn’t always win but he was a great talent and took the fights that matter. But this local rivalry was too big of a loss for his ego to handle.

regardless of people wanting to watch him or not, people still pay him more because of his ethnicity and past.

That’s dumb bro, if that’s how business is being managed no wonder Hearn can’t put together great matches. What matters is fight sellability. Not fighter history. A real grudge fight between two past champions will always out sell a champion verses an underachieving/unheralded nobody. No wonder Hearns best fights happen by accident, he doesn’t know how to create a matchup (Ruiz bs Joshua).

he's a bigger name than kell brook, always has been.
had he lost to kell brook then all other other paydays were out of the question.

A: He may be a bigger name, but today he will have to eat crow on ducking this fight. He just spent his last valid excuse being with the same promoter.

i dont think hes in the sport to win, hasnt been for a long time.

A: Then time to retire. Not the sport you stay in to sight see and collect meals. Especially when you are getting concussed against vivacious punchers.

Dazn/ Sky... whatever bro you live in the UK. I didn’t even watch the BS. Registered immediately as not even compelling.

Bottomline is this as of 2018 Amir was with Matchroom. The fights were complete garbage and happened on Hearns watch. Not to mention terrible matches are Hearns calling card. Everyone wants to complain abou DAZN‘S foolish spending and lack of profitability but look at the trash they are spending big bucks on. Whats is consistent is terrible match ups are a match room staple. That means it is continuously happening on Hearns watch. Dazn’s brand is this... We showcase the biggest fighters in the world in mismatches.

Hearn dangled the steak of Kahn vs Brook and then feed us Phil Lo Greco/ Vargas dog food as if we will not know the difference. Just after planting the seed that a big Brook vs Kahn fight would be on the Horizon. Link for more info...

Amir Khan has signed a three-fight promotional deal with Matchroom Boxing – and returns to action on April 21 at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, live on Sky Sports. The former unified Light-Welterweight World champion and GB Olympic silver medal man is back in the ring following a successful appearance on reality show ‘I’m A … Continued

kell brook vs amir khan is a uk fight anyway, dazn might broadcast it, but would americans really care for that?

Absolutely, both Amir Kahn and Kell Brook have been successful in capturing American market space. Until Kahn kept looking terrible we all wanted to see this match. Americans love a grudge match with pride on the line. But it seems like the very thing that makes it interesting in America is the reason Amir has ducked the fight. However today... I am not sure who cares? Both the fighters started fighting exhibition level talent. In addition the way Kahn refused to finish the Crawford fight hurt interest in him across the board.

also, amir khan came back from 2 yrs out, was he meant to fight kell brook? are you stoned?
A: No Hearn should have been stoned for putting that garbage fight out there. You should have caught some of it for defending it. With all the talent at WW Khan couldn’t beat a fighter better than Phil Lo Greco? If that’s the case he should have stayed retired. He is stealing money from fans.

But we agree on one thing, Kahn doesn’t seem to be even 60% vested in the sport. He had remarkable talent but seems to be fighting for pay checks and unconcerned with protecting his legacy or health. It’s okay, just hope he gets out before he accidentally runs into an animal and gets seriously hurt. He must have been taking some serious heat against Crawford to fake that injury for a pay check.

you're ranting at eddie hearn but again missing the point

                1) in those 2 yrs out, amir lost a lot. he lost his friends, ended up with his wife as his manager. He also split from his wife at one point and cheated on her openly, it was a public spat..and he was doing *******, drinking etc.

What changed it was his wife got pregnant again and he was back with her. then he went onto 'i'm a celebrity' tv show..and suddenly a lot of people liked him again.

                2) He ended up signing with matchroom on a 3 fight deal with the intent to fight kell in the final fight.
phil lo greco was a warm up fight..and sam vargas was a fight to get in the rounds again.

The problem is, when amir vs kell should have happened...crawford offered amir $5m..no way amir was going to back out of that.

furthermore, kell brook ballooned in weight and wasnt fit, saying he needs a tune up fight. this has dragged on.

in eithercase it isnt Hearn's fault. i mean despite losing to crawford, AK still got $7m from saudis who dont care about his 'reputation' in america/uk, they just wanted someone who people recognise.

Amir has made the right choices. legacy doesnt mean **** to him, he's already lost enough fights and at this point he's just enjoying life and knows he gets beat by kell brook.

kell will ko amir. amir has no speed left, crawford proved that. kell's power will still hold, he still has it..so if anything it's even easier for kell now.
