Comments Thread For: Sulaiman: Still A Two-Year WBC Ban For Any Pro Who Participates In Olympics

If we are talking safety; the pros who fight the Olympians in their pro debut should be protected as 90% of the tomato cans are knocked out in 2 rounds. Except the guy who beat Robeisy Ramirez of course.
The pros will still fight under amateur rules and will have to adapt to a faster format with bigger gloves, etc. The IBF, WBO, and WBA all support the pros participating so Sulaimans protest has very little effect.
Already pros have been competing against amateurs for the last 10 years in the WSB, then the APB and since 2016 plenty of boxers have been going back and forth. Most of the traditional pro boxers couldn´t even make an impact in the amateur game so far.Comment

are you fkn ret@rded?nobody Support’s Suli! But nobody wants to see a professional boxer fight a kid with no pro experience! Imagine pac or Crawford vs 18 yr old kid with no pro experience! Get the picture?Comment

So it’s okay to build the “Dream Team” to allow our pro-basketball players **** on other countries, but we can’t have boxers do the same? This is some bull****. If fighters have the b@lls to defend their country, they should have the right to and not ***** out due to these “contracts” they have with their promoters.Comment

Hmmm, a two-year ban for pros who go to the Olympics, huh. But no ban at all for Mexican fighters who take clenbuterol? Ok, got it.Comment

The 18 year old kid must be pretty good to qualify for thee Olympics. And he needs to turn 19 this year, otherwise be will be too young according to the rules.
If Canelo Alvarez, Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera and Manny Pacquiao are allowed to turn pro when they are 15-16 years old, why can´t a 19 year old good enough to qualify, fight a professional at the Olympics under amateur rules?Comment
