Comments Thread For: Junior Middleweight: This Time, a Showdown Fulfilled?

By Cliff Rold - Two undefeated titlists, in the same division, under the same umbrella, were headed towards a unification showdown. It looked that way on paper. There was a plan in need of simple execution. In the span of just less than five months, plans changed. First Jermell Charlo, and then Jarrett Hurd, went from on track for a tri-belted clash to finding...

Glad best 154 pounders are at same network. Should be no props to make J-rock vs Jermell.

They are not necessarily the best, just current title holders, there's always someone who's better, to me Madrimov is the current best at this division

"The ingredients for a gem in waiting are there. That another gem may be around the corner should be no surprise. The PBC slate at Jr. Middleweight has delivered gems consistently for an extended period. Along with Williams’ battles with Charlo and Hurd, and Charlo-Harrison II, we’ve also been treated to Harrison-Hurd and Hurd-Erislandy Lara among others in the last few years."

154 has been my favorite division for years! The fighters have skill and power, and it doesn't hurt that they don't like each other too! Lara vs. Lubin! Make It Happen! J-Rock, Let's Go! Philly Stand Up! Salute to Chris Colbert! Rise and Shine Sun!

Good looking prospect! 475 amateur fights! WOW! Would Hearn let Brook fight him? What about Andrade? It's going to be tough for him because he only has 4 pro fights. Very high risk-low reward.

Only 4 fights means nothing in this era, his first pro fight was a 10-rounder, can you name anyone (besides Loma) who starts pro career with a 10 round fight, there are not a lot of them
Andrade is a MW, Brook's looking for a cashout, Madrimov's next opponent is gonna be smn like Culckay, Soro, Kurbanov on GGG-Szeremeta

Soro would be nice! Still, who would want to fight a no name killer for short money? They're gonna say, just like they said about Teofimo Lopez, "He has to get a title first!"

Glad this forum has knowledgeable people like you to spread the word about great prospects.

Heard about Boots Ennis early last year on the 3 Knockdown Rule. Wouldn't have known about him otherwise.

Let the kid atleast beat a solid contender before you start crowning him as the best. I'd like to see what he does against a Terrell Gausha type guy.
