I'm guessing the old time greats dont like that he anoints himself as the best ever. Or maybe they feel like he took the easy road.

SRL, Duran, Hagler and Hearns all fought each other in their primes. Not sure who Floyd's best prime opponent was.

I'd say its a tossup between Corrales (rip) and Ricky Hatton being the best prime guys, but neither really fall into the all time great category.

Its sad that having an opinion opposite of what Floyd groupies have, means you are hating.

You can tell the guys, the former greats, when it comes to Floyd, they sugarcoat what they really want to say to avoid being labeled a hater, and the guys who just going to speak their mind, and let the chips fall where they may.

I think its two fold, the fighters that dont like Floyd dont ever deny how good of a fighter he is they just jealous of Floyds money and talk, and then there are many fighters and trainers that think Floyd the fighter was an amazing boxer that was practically untouchable. Pound for pound, SAME fight night ring weight I would back Floyd to beat SRL Hagler and Hearns, Duran because of the weight was actually better than than those 3 and would be a great fight with Floyd at 130-135. Floyds best was not at WW because he was never a WW, at best he grew into a small WW. Hearns and Leonard are much bigger than Floyd thats what gives them the edge at WW and above.

And that raises the next issue, fanboys that dont have a clue about the skills in boxing at the highest level just hate on everything but boxing, Floyd is a master boxer the jealousy shown by a few fighters and the fanboy BS shows me more of their boxing ignorance than anything else.

What is apparent is how young fans are all macho, they see a Tyson as a hero and Floyd as a coward, that is so fcked up because Mike is a proven coward and Floyd has never looked like searching for the ear door to stop from being koed, Floyd has never looked like a coward in a boxing ring when he chooses he has stood toe to toe and never gave an inch, he was good enough to be able to choose how he would fight a guy, if Floyd was a HW he would school Tyson like a joke.

None of them has anything bad to say about him as a boxer. So if they can't critique is skills then it comes down to jealousy. He did what they all wish they could have done.

Why ppl say Floyd is great because he gamed the system is beyond me. That's the same thing as saying he cheated the system with loopholes or corruption. Other fighters get turned off because he breaks contractual agreements and makes demands over his opponents. Things like picking his opponents glove type close to the fight, coming in overweight, bringing in shady drug testing agency over NSAC's own company, etc. I can understand a fighters reasons for making demands to protect himself but don't look like a hypocrite when you break the rules yourself with coming in overweight and getting caught using a masking agent before the fight.
