I'm guessing the old time greats dont like that he anoints himself as the best ever. Or maybe they feel like he took the easy road.

SRL, Duran, Hagler and Hearns all fought each other in their primes. Not sure who Floyd's best prime opponent was.

They all know he's a fraud counterfeit pretender, protected by the establishment. They also know they can't say it because they all have some skeleton bones in their lockers.

No, they didn't. Hagler refused to move from MW and waited for Tommy and Ray to come to him. I'm not hating on Marv, but, consequences are SRL and Hagler were old and ready for retirement by the time they fought.

Good sentiment though and mostly correct but I feel like it kind of diminishes SRL.

SRL fought prime Duran and prime Hearn, Hagler, refusing to be anything but a MW, only fought those guys after SRL. Making the big fight for quite sometime SRL vs Hagler but that fight only happens at the very end of Marvin's career.

SRL is why those guys fought.

Kinda like the 90s HWs, Lennox, Tyson, Holyfield? Not really, without Evander there's no glue to stick them all together. Credit where credit's due, Holy and SR made their eras special while the other names from that era simply played their roles and accepted the challenge, they did not go after it.

Cool. So who do you think Floyd's best prime opponent was?

I dunno, I was just putting over SRL.

Hatton is my favorite Floyd fight. Far as prime opponents, sheesh, I've heard tons of reason why this guy or that guy wasn't at their absolute peak.

He talks a lot of chit, and so far, nobody has flattened him out like JMM did to manny, or other fighters who talked big but got smashed.

If you are going to talk chit, you had better be able to back it up, or nobody is going to buy your fights. Some people buy his fights hoping Floyd will lose.

Floyd tapped into that group of traditional fight fans, who just want to see 2 guys go toe to toe, and the best man win, but that is not how floyd fights.

Pac fans wanted him to let the one armed PAC land some clean shots, or use his dead arm as a club to beat floyd like one of those baby seals in Canada.

Floyd sells tickets, he fights good, he talks big, but at the end of the day, he wins.. Sure he stacks the deck against his opponents, Vegas, weight draining, etc. but so did PACMAN.

If Floyd got KTFO like PAC did, we would stop buying his brand TMT, and look for the next big thing. Floyd knows this, and is protecting his brand, and at this point, it makes business sense.

I love Joe Montana, and kinda do not like Tom Brady... it is irrational, but I want my QB to be the best, and well he isn't. Tom Brady is better.

Castillo, who beat floyd in the first fight.

                  This.

Every ATG has to FIGHT their way to greatness. Floyd did not.

Floyd was a spoiled rotten kid who RIGGED VEGAS BOXING in his favor.

NO OTHER BOXER COULD ADOPT HIS STYLE AND GET AWAY WITH IT FOR THAT LONG.

He doesn’t overcome adversity and literally any good boxer can run and hug for 12 rounds if they wanted to, but nobody does.

Even Andre Berto said in an interview before fighting him that he, “Didn’t realize how much control of boxing in Vegas Floyd has until now.”

Floyd has had the game rigged for quite some time. That’s why he continued to fight like that with no worries. Other boxers wouldn’t feel comfortable throwing one or two punches a round and calling it a victory.

He didn’t do ish in that Pacquiao fight!
                  Didley squat!
                  PAC arguably won that!

But Floyd got the game rigged.
                  And other boxers know it.

Some of those guys mentioned have no room to talk if they criticizing his character. Which seems to be the case.

Tyson, ODH shouldn't be speaking on anyones character for obvious reasons
