Best fight that didnt get made in previous decade?

We all know boxing is full of political BS that for one reason or another the best or biggest fights are rarely made at the best time, often squabbles about A/B sides, money or perhaps they just want to wait a few years until said fighter gets old, & the fight is then never as big or as good as it could of been...

Off the top of my head these are the ones that pissed me off the most:

Stevenson V Kovalev: After Kovalev wiped out Pascal for the second time in a fight where he prolonged a sustained beating on a helpless Pascal with Stevenson looking on at ringside. Hilarity ensued in the post fight interview. We looked to be on the brink of a huge megafight between two of the biggest punchers in the sport for the LHW unification.

GGG V Pirog: 2 years After Destroying Daniel Jacobs, Pirog the WBO Titleist signed to fight WBA Titleist Genady Golovkin, not the 'biggest' fight but certainly one of the best at the time, fans were left dissapointed, after during training for Golovkin, Pirog injured his back and subsequently had to retire. Golovkin was left without an opponent for his U.S debut and instead fought Proska as a replacement. The opposing styles in this fight would of been fascinating.

others include 2010 May v Pac (5 years too late)
    Khan V Brook 2014/15
Wilder V AJ 2018 (will never be as big as 2 undefeated fighting)
Wilder V Povetkin 2016 (hugely looking forward to this one)
Spence V Bud 2019 (Spence may never be the same now)
Beterbiev V Kovalev (Kovalev is likely now retired/washed)

This is technically not one of the 'best fights' but: Terry Flanghan V Anthony Crolla. this would of been huge in the UK & sold out an area/football ground in Manchester.
Both went to the same school, Man city fan v Man United fan football rivalry, both held world titles, so for whatever reason this unification wasnt made has to be one of the biggest promotional hicups in recent UK boxing memory.

    any others i missed?

Personally im going with Kovalev V Stevenson. Seeing Kovalev call out 'Adonis Chickenson' and then quack into the mic while Stevenson was shouting 'im da real CHAMP!' as he got his bodyguards to hold him back was hilarious. Forever pissed we will never see this fight

Mikey can still beat Vargas, & move down to 135 and beat a big name and the fight would arguiably be bigger then it would of been a couple of years ago.
Hes clearly not a 147er and looks like a doughboy at 140..so i dont see a problem making 135 again unless he cant be bothered...

It can be bigger but I doubt it can be better. They were both at their prime couple of years ago at 135.

Same as pac-floyd. It was bigger years later but certainly not close to being a better fight had it happened 2009-2010.. esp not after pac planked already as mikey got beat 12 rounds against spence.

It’s undoubtedly May-Pac both closer to their peaks.

I’d have loved to have seen Kovalev-Stevenson especially then they were both just tearing through opposition in 2013. That one really should have happened.

Khan-Brook being on the list made me laugh.

Khan-Bradley is one I wanted to see.

                  Groves-DeGale 2 also.

Flanagan-Crolla was a no brained but Joe Gallagher never wanted that smoke.

Maidana-Matthysse is another one I’d have really liked to see, they never really crossed paths though.

Santa Cruz vs Gary Russell Jr should have and still should happen.

Roman Gonzalez vs Donnie Nietes at 108.

Rios vs Ortiz would’ve been fun but not too ar**d it never happened.
