I wouldnt give it to anyone. Mayweather has strongest case by far and only fought half the decade and was out of his prime years for a lot of it. If u showed someone who doesnt follow boxing canelos fights against mayweather lara and ggg that he is fighter of the decade they'd laugh their heads off. But he will win it cause of the money invested in him.

You're choosing to focus on the negatives rather than the positives.

For example, Floyd sold 16 million PPV's in the US during the decade. In 5 years. That is an average of over 3 mil PPV's per year. During the decade he had the 3 highest selling PPV's of all time. Canelo just reached an epic deal with dazn that looks like the kind of money an NBA player gets. AJ is performing in front of massive crowds.

For you to then post "The last decade has done more damage to boxing viewership in the US and mainstream appeal than any other in its long and once illustrious history" knowing the above shows you are letting your emotions cloud your judgement.

I'd say it is accomplishments in the decade, and not having primarily to do with fighting in every year of a decade like some people assert. For that reason, Floyd clearly wins it for me.

Chocolatito absolutely does.

He went up 3 weight classes and beat P4P ranked contenders and only lost twice in the decade (once really).

He fought 28 times, won 26 and was considered the almost consensus P4P King after Floyd retired.

All those other guys either have too many losses(Pacquiao), were beneficiaries of "controversial decisions" (Canelo), juiced up (Canelo), or were too inactive (Mayweather, Ward).

Give it to the only reason 90% of boxing fans care about guys south of 122, Chocolatito.

I believe if Pacquiao didn't have the ugly "losses" against Bradley and Horn on his resume, he would win it again.

Or if Ward had fought more and been active, he could’ve been.

He has some big wins. Froch, Kovalev x 2 (debatable whether he won the first), Kessler, Dawson etc..

Had he added more names to that resume and been active throughout the full decade, i think he’d be in with a shout.

Edit: just realised Kessler was 2009. Time goes too fast!!

But then people will say he lost his big defining fight v Floyd. Plus going life and death with someone like Horn and losing isn’t a good look.

Then again, you can really tear apart anyones achievements if you want to.

For everyone that says Canelo is FOTD, you will have someone saying he lost to GGG twice really, Arguaby lost to Lara. Lost to Floyd. PED cheat etc..

And then you can say Floyd only fought for half a decade, so why should he get it?
