Comments Thread For: Team Parker To Usyk: We're The A-Side, 70-30 Split For Us!

David Higgins, the manager for former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker, says their boxer is without question the 'A-side' of any agreement for a potential with Oleksandr Usyk. Usyk, who unified the entire cruiserweight division in 2018, made his heavyweight debut in October with a stoppage victory over Chazz Witherspoon.

Usyk is undefeated, 2018 boxer of the year and comes from a country with a population 9x the NZ population. I like Parker but he is frustrating to watch, just doesnt have a killer instinct, just goes through the motions. There's no way he's A side.

I’m sick of this A side B side ****. If Mfers are afraid, they need to just admit it.

Oh boy here we go with this "I'm the A side" bulls--t again.

Your fighters name isn't that much bigger than Usyk's. And as far as I can tell, your fighter isn't better than Usyk. So is this plain greed or just another lame way of ducking a fight?

If you're both challengers fighting for what will be a vacant belt than how much more bargaining power do you really have over Usyk?

            I need answers.

70/30 in Parker's favour is as realistic as the 50/50 split with AJ that Higgins was demanding at the start of the negotiations with Hean over unifying with AJ!

That turned out to be nothing more than a negotiating ploy, and I'm assuming Higgins is playing the same game again now. Either that, or he and Joe don't really want the fight.

Usyk is the WBO mandatory challenger, so if AJ vacates, Usyk going to fight for the title, either against Parker or somebody else, if Parker prices himself out

If Joshua was to vacate, it would be 60-40 or 50-50 for the vacant strap, with it likely being ordered 50-50 by the WBO. If anything, it could be 60-40 in Usyk's favor because he was their champ in the lower weight.

If Parker was an "A-Side" he'd be packing venues in his home country. Instead he's fighting abroad as an opponent.

How ****** are you? You can't spell "kangaroo" and don't know that Parker is from New Zealand, where are no kangaroos.
