Comments Thread For: Jesse Hart: No Excuses, But I Hurt My Right Hand a Week Ago

Philadelphia's Jesse Hart wanted revenge. Joe Smith Jr. didn't let that happen. Smith, who knocked out Hart's mentor and fellow Philly pugilist Bernard Hopkins in 2016, was dominant but had to settle for a split decision in the Top Rank on ESPN main event in front of 3,415 fans at Etess Arena at Hard Rock Live.

id say he ruined the fight but the blame lies squarely on the ref. i love it when you get two guys who are willing to trade and neither guy will clinch out of honor/respectr for themselves, but then you get fighs like this (majority of boxing fights) where one guy grabs on for dear life and holds and the ref does nothing, ever.

what even are the rules of boxing? what a joke of a sport, i spit on boxing judges and refs and promoters, such a dumb sport stuck in the stone age. theres about 2 minutes of actual boxing and 34 minutes of holding on, rubbing your body against another man (and people call mma g4y lol).

p1ssed off. this sport is junk and angers me now.

Ha! I thought exactly the same things

But I'm still angry at Smith for not having finished Hart, thus making my bet on him via KO ineffective. Growl.

Horrible boxer, fought like a scared boxer from the first second of the fight. He looked like an amateur who was having his pro debut. His jab was like a girl flicking out the left hand. His footwork????? I have seen bare knuckle boxers with better footwork. He was mentally beaten before he even stepped into the ring. He really need to switch trainers or go back to the drawing board.
