Ahhh another one of those because 1 or 2 people said something, now everyone was saying it arguments. But even still, are we going to pretend that a fighter remains at the same threat level for the entirety of their career and that it does not change? Because when Saunders was champion, he fought Amir Khan and Rocky Fielding. He certainly didn't fight Kovalev when he was a killer but was willing to do it after he had multiple losses and ko's. Now all of a sudden he's willing to fight Saunders after he looked bad in fights, same with GGG tho to a lesser extent than Saunders. Why doesn't he fight Andrade or Charlo who'd argue are much stronger champions right now? Why doesn't he fight Benavidez or Plant? Why not Beterbiev or Bivol? Why's he always going after the weakest champion if he's not waiting for signs of decline to fight them? When's the last time he even attempted to fight for a championship or unified titles with a fighter when they weren't the weakest champion or did not show signs of decline?
I thought CANELO was terrified of Saunders!?!?

Then let him do that then. Canelo is like Mayweather in that he can get any fight at time. He's the one jumping divisions looking for the weakest opponents possible instead of just fighting the strongest opponents in his divisionComment

Lol. Canelo could fight Gate Keepers and you’d still cry and change your name to “Weakest Opponents” and you still wouldn’t get a clue..Comment

Getting emotional and in your feelings aside, I've never said any of that stuff. Canelo was the obvious favorite against Jacobs and I think Canelo beats Charlie and Andrade too but I think they would be tough fights with a chance for an upset, much more so than Saunders.
And as far as Beterbiev, it isn't about age it's about performance. Once again, please tell me the last time Canelo fought a champion or top ranked fighter coming off a good performance when he fought them and did not show signs of decline?Last edited by Gate keeper; 01-12-2020, 11:41 AM.Comment

These Canelo fans take this too seriously hahaha Canelo is a good fighter but by no means I see him fighting anybody in their prime who can box his ears off......Trout,Lara and Mayweather made him look silly in there and he was even getting outboxed by old man KovalevComment

Nah we just tired of you casuals fans talking like you know sht about boxing. We can spot you clowns out a mile away. And once you bring up “ducking” you just left no doubt.Comment

Wrong, GGG did not come off a great performance vs Jacobs and showed signs of decline vs when Canelo could of fought him but gave up his belt instead. 2nd Jacobs took a loss plus knockdown against GGG, didn't look great against Arias and had a really tough fight against Derevyanchenko, arguably showing signs of decline. 3rd Cotto was near retirement, done nothing special at 160 and easily the weakest champion at 160 at the time. And now of course we have Saunders coming up, again the weakest champion at 160 and 168.
The correct answer, tho not a championship fight, is Erislandy Lara who had some trouble but still dominated Angulo and had a strong win against Trout before Canelo fought him. And if we're focused on just championship fights it's Mayweather. Now the question is why do we have to go 5 years back or more to find a time when Canelo was fighting a top ranked opponent or champion coming off a strong performance? It's not like he was inactive or retired during that time and keep in mind Canelo can literally fight anyone he chooses because he's considered a payday. Try to answer that without getting in your feelings again if you can. If you do, the answer is clear.Last edited by Gate keeper; 01-12-2020, 03:37 PM.Comment
