I don't care who will win, I'm rooting for Maskaev. Why? Because Rahman is a bigger, stonger man with more left in his career and a belt strapped around his waist. I've never cared for the blaize attitude of Rahman, either. The, "Oh,well, suppose I lost..." or "Gee...I...guess I was a bit weaker...". I need a certain level of confidence from my boys.
I want the hard nosed foriegner to win. Why? So that Americans become overwhealmed with holding no belts and focus on training some guys worth a ****. Find us another good heavyweight. Rahman is wasting time as the "American"heavyweight. We need to lit a fire under the asses of the American boxing community by having no stake in the division before we see a big turn around.Comment

I had it 6/5 & 1 even for Toney, & i just rewatched it cause someone else had brought it up on another thread, Rahman never stopped working & pushing on Toney, but I had Toney landing the cleaner more effective punches, & Toney defense was probably the only thing that didn't look bad becuase of his weight, he was still rolling away from those shots, & on the inside he was hitting Rahman at will.I don't see how it's so hard to imagine considering that 2 judges had it a draw, but hey I think Hopkins beat Taylor so maybe I'm biased cause i like both their styles.Originally posted by DiegoFuegodude, not to give you a hard way to go, but no way you had Toney winning that fight. Rahman definitely won 7 rounds and you could argue he won 8. No way Toney won more than 6. Just no way.Comment

A fine statement all round. The only real plus of Rahman winning is that he has said that he would go on to fight Wlad (or try to unify the two more respected belts).
In so many other sports the top players and stars are in their twenties these days. Why does boxing have these slow, aging lumberers at heavyweight? New blood please.Comment
