Rahman definitely isn't in his prime, he hasn't looked the same since the Ruiz fight. I think at least part of that has been his lack of motivation and proper training. IF Rahman comes in prepared and ready to fight, I don't think its too suspenseful and he wins. But Rahman is totally unpredictable, you don't know whether he will KO the HW champ or get beaten by the quiet man. Even early in his career he was inconsistent and unfocused, he was beating Tua on all the cards in their first fight and allowed himself to get caught with a big punch. I guess my point is that Rahman is the better fighter but is unpredictable so who knows what will happen.

Oleg by UD!It's just an honest prediction.Im not a hater or huge fan of either man.And I realize that Rahman's a good fighter when he brings his A game.I think either man has a good shot. This isn't exactly Gatti versus Mayweather IMO.

If Rahman does in fact knock Maskaev "out for good", please don't start the Rahman talk right after the fight.

He's fighting a guy who always was a carpenter, and now he's an older carpenter.

Oleg is a great guy, but he's never been anything special outside of a big puncher.

so why are you picking him? I'm not going to hype Rahman up because this is and should be an easy fight for him. I'm still hyping Rahman for outboxing James Toney like I said he could. I was the only one (other than Roy Jones Jr.) who saw that. I said Rahman was the only guy in the division who could give Toney trouble and he did.

I think Rock has looked downright awful in his last two fights.

If you could sit there with a straight face....and say the way he fought against Toney was a positive indicator: I'd say you have the best poker face on the planet.

He looked sluggish, and his fights against Barrett and Toney were boring and amateurish.

I agree with this. It looked to me like Rock could have cranked it up and really put it on Toney at any time, and just didn't. It was like they fell into that dreaded old "silent agreement."

But there won't be any silent agreement with a big white Russian dude who already KO'd him. If Maskaev wins, Rock will not get a lucrative rematch like he would with Toney. Maskaev will have beaten him twice, the end. Bye, Rock. That's why it won't happen.

I hate to be so cynical, but that's how it breaks down for me. Rock's back is up against the wall, he's the better fighter overall, and he's not facing his homie or another American contender he can easily get a rematch with if it's close or if he loses. He's fighting for his career, now.

umm what do you call david tua and monte barrett? i mean it was a draw with tua but no one really believes rahman didnt win.

tua has fallen off now pretty much but looks to be coming back slowly. but anyway then he was one of the top guys for sure. and barrett had some great wins against guinn (when he was udnefeated) and owen beck when he was undefeated.

i personally thought it was one of the worst fights of the year.

there is no real appeal to me in a heavyweight fight where you know by the end of round 2 that there is no way anyone is going to even be seriously hurt much less knocked out.
