I don't think this is what this sounds like... I think this was a planned move that he'd deliberately kept from Cyclone until all the pieces were in place. If there'd been a pay dispute there would have been some signs of friction but it literally sounds like he sprung it on 'em.

OOOOOO Snap! I bet 'ol Eddie Hearnzzzzz is BIG BIG mad! The only champs he has from 130 lbs to 160 lbs are Tevin and Andrade, and if he can't get Andrade a big fight he may be down to one. He probably needed Josh to use him as bait to keep Devin Haney on board just in case he moved up to 140 lbs, but the Bobfather threw a BIG monkey wrench into that plan. Now what's the plan going to be for Devin over at DA-ZASTER? Devin needs to jump off the Titantic now because I can see the iceberg approaching real fast. Come back to PBC Devin so you can join in this potential new lovefest between PBC and Top rank. 130-135 lbs - Devin, Tank, Commey, Teofomo, Loma, GRJ, LSC, Herring, Tagoe, Lamont Roach, Abner, Robert Easter jr, Oscar Valdez (sorry Tevin and Ryan). Lets go!Comment

What's Cyclone saying?
I tend to side with the promoter knowing what's up more than the fighter in these situations. Fighters are wrong quite often with knowing the perimeters of their deal.Comment

Pretty sure this is a straight poach by Arum though, the first anyone seems to have heard was the simultaneous announcement by TR and Taylor that he was joining 'em... I'm not 100% but this looks pretty well planned and I have to guess that Arum figures he's got a good chance of either protecting Taylor from litigation or possibly paying Cyclone off.Last edited by Citizen Koba; 01-09-2020, 07:31 PM.Comment

Josh Taylor has signed a new promotional deal on the back of becoming a world champion. The 29-year-old Edinburgh super-lightweight claimed the IBF world title during his run to winning the World Boxing Super Series last year. Taylor (16-0, 12 KOs), who has been under the Cyclone Promotions banner both managerially and promotionally since turning professional, then added the WBA Super and vacant Ring Magazine titles to his haul in the showpiece final of the tournament at the O2 Arena in London back in October
