That's what I heard from other higher-ranked players too. Well said. I mean, if you don't mind, I'd still play a few games with you. Definitely will hit you up! Cheers!
Lol The trash talkers crack me up. What’s your rating? I’ve been playing three-minute games lately, almost exclusively.
i'm at low 1700s right now but it's always been in mid to high 1600s then had a good run to to crack 1700. i only play blitz too 3 mins and sometimes 5 mins. i don't play longer minute games anymore...too many cheaters.
i also play at lichess.com...have a 1800s rating there but i think it's easier to get a higher ratings there than chess.com based on my experience
Even if he did beat Loma... Lopez isn't beating Ramirez or Taylor... Their both 5'10 and could fight at 147 without much of a problem..Lopez just struggled mightily a couple fight ago with a 6'0 journeyman at 135...

I enjoy the occasional 30 min game. It’s more relaxing to me, and you get to play more “real” chess. You also learn much more and expand your game. Years ago I discovered that longer games improved my blitz. A thirty minute game is like playing ten three minute games. You analyze much more in your head, strategize better. Blitz is far more tactical in nature.
I never understood why people cheat. If there’s no money on the line, what’s the point? They must either be kids or have some mental problem.
I played a few times on Gameknot a couple of years back. Didn’t like the platform. Chess.com has a tremendous amount of members, and some of the strongest players in the world play there. It’s possible to get an inflated rating if you play nothing but weaker players. You’ve got guys like Nakamura, Vachier-Lagrave and other GMs, that are rated over 3100 (!) at blitz. That can only happen if you’re playing a ton of weaker players. It also happens with lesser lights.
I actually think he's thinking more like a fighter by trying to dent Teofimo's confidence before they get into the ring. Taking the crowd completely out of the equation will force Teofimo to rely on his inner strength rather than getting willed to victory by the crowd's energy. Given their fight history at MSG, it makes the most business sense of any venue.

Taking away the home advantage is the former, not the latter.
I would think that the athletic ideal is to pit your best against your opponent at his best. And may the better man win.
Seeking to take away one of the advantages in the opponent's favor before the fight seems like an attempt to start hedging your bets, because obviously a loss would be bad for business.
