Hatton didn't want to fight Witter, a difficult style for Hatton, for less money that the big fights over in America.

Froch was nobody when Calzaghe was king. Calzaghe just wanted the big fights in America against Hopkins and Jones, as well unifying the division with the Kessler fight.

    Groves beat Degale.

Khan never wanted it or need it, he wanted the megafights with Pacquiao and Mayweather.

Hatton was heading for America and world star status

Calzaghe was frying big fish, Froch at the time was a small fish

By the time Degale went pro Froch was participating in the Super 6 and fighting top caliber level opponents (except was Mack) and Groves really derailed the DeGale momentum

I think Khan is scared of fighting Brook because if he loses its a major drop in his market value. Fighting and losing to your domestic rival that's been calling you out for years is a terror in Khan's mind.

Other than Froch-Groves I-II, there's a reluctance to fight domestic opposition once they're on the world level.

Regardless, I commend them for facing an elite domestic opponent prior to fighting on world level (and in some cases their opponent is world level). Joshua-Whyte, Fury-Chisora I and II, and Saunders-Eubank come to mind and I'm sure a thorough list can be gathered.
