Sad when you read stories like his. Ive often wondered how many of us would end up like him if we were in similar shoes?

Not really a similar example but James Butler and his killing of Sam Kellerman was pretty tragic. More due to his mental illness and being a piece of human garbage than lifestyle though I can almost guarantee.

Hows about his taped hand sucker punch of richard the alien grant when grant was going in for a handshake....I think it was more butler's mental illness than his lifestyle that lead to his demise

I think he had substance abuse issues as well that contributed to his demise and killing of Sam. Not really thread fitting I guess but I wanted to contribute and couldn't think of anything unique that hadn't been posted yet.

No bro it's a fair contribution , I value your opinion and just kind of thought of that as I was typing . Something was wrong upstairs with butler .....whether he was using drugs to create a bad mental state or he was using them to cope with one lifestyle is still a factor . Just pointing out it may have been out of butler's hands ( level headed decision making ).

Well to be fair if you look at the initial post of mine you quoted, and what you said in reply, we're saying the exact same thing more or less.

It was all very strange and tragic though on many levels. Sam would have been even more successful than Max had he survived I imagine. My username, though also part of an Ali quote that was the inspiration for the trademarked phrase of Michael Buffer, is also the title of Max and Sam's hip hop song about boxing. IMO the track still holds up to this day!
