Yeah man. That ESPN 30 for 30 on him was tough to watch. Especially at the end where they showed a pic of him essentially on his death bed. That pic was disturbing.

Some sick maniac had the nerve to sport that as his avatar after that pic was released. I believe he was banned for it.

It was all very strange and tragic though on many levels. Sam would have been even more successful than Max had he survived I imagine. My username, though also part of an Ali quote that was the inspiration for the trademarked phrase of Michael Buffer, is also the title of Max and Sam's hip hop song about boxing. IMO the track still holds up to this day!
That track is dope I forgot about that hahaha . It's a real shame about Sam's passing I agree . Not just for the lack of human life but for the fact that he never got a chance to get his name out there mainstream like we both seem to agree would have happened . Either way good topic . And you're right we are saying the same thing with slightly different context lol

There used to be a stat trotted out that the number one cause of death in boxers was gunshot.

Don't think I've ever seen evidence or support of it though.

Tony Ayala Jr. probably the number 1 in wasted talent and potential in boxing history.

not even thinking about it much I could list a lot.

Makes you wonder if getting punched in the head a lot of your life just made the mind make bad decisions.
um...Rid**** Bowe isn't dead. Naseem either, he just got fat.
