It's been a tough few weeks but I'm glad I haven't dropped too low. What's the plan for the Matchroom shows?

You're doing fine, man, stack of multipliers left and not far off the leading pack, whilst my ass is languishing on the fringes of the top 20.

Matchroom shows will be on a fight by fight basis depending on what the rest of the world has to offer on a particular week. Logistically we might have to do a bit of juggling cos of the weekday cards from the US, maybe have a couple different Pick Em threads running concurrently but it can all be done.

As of right now - without getting my crystal balls out - I'd hazard Egg n Cheese to a near certainty, probably not Harper vs Jonas, maybe Cash vs Welborn, definitely JCM vs Arroyo and Whyte vs Povetkin and probably Selby vs Kambosos

I was just going off a quick glance of the Matchroom site which only showed the headliners so it's entirely likely there's another coupla decent fights on other unders too, though probably none quite as good as that

Sound. I personally feel that Harper vs Jonas should be included and will make for a good scrap. If you're going to include womens fights, this could be a good one to use amongst an otherwise uninspiring card from Hearn.

On a separate note, on double card weeks, I tend to do my first picks early in the week and then the second after the weigh in.

When scoring our picks, do you prefer if we update the first post with our latest picks? Or create another post with the second picks (later in the week)?

Sound. I personally feel that Harper vs Jonas should be included and will make for a good scrap. If you're going to include womens fights, this could be a good one to use amongst an otherwise uninspiring card from Hearn.

I'm a big supporter of the women's sport in general, but sadly most of the feedback I've had off the Pick Em players has been negative when I've tried to slide some women's fights in. Could be that you got a point though given the circumstances of COVID... in the absence of top men's fights it might be a suitable time to put a coupla high level women's fights in. I'll give it some thought - and anyway, ****it, I'm dropping in Taylor vs Persoon II whatever anyone thinks.

WRT making the picks, you ain't alone, a good number of players are waitng for the weigh ins before they make their picks.... In terms of what's easiest when it comes down to making your picks, from my point of view it's updating the original pick, but just make sure not to change your post in any way after the fight has started cos the edit leaves a timestamp on the post and that's what we use to check a pick was made in time for the fight.

Ain't a massive problem if you choose to make two seperate posts though, just means whoever's updating has to go back and edit your spreadsheet entry again.

Kind words brother, but whilst I've tried all along to gently steer things the way I think they should be it's only effective if I can carry the players with me... so softly, softly. S'why I go to all the effort of canvassing opinion and so forth even if it's a pain sometimes. I want this **** to be owned by all of us.

Note that Lopez is named by his matronymic 'Vargas' on the Pick Em thread and most posters followed suit, the error was entirely mine and down to my lack of my understanding of Mexican naming customs. Furthermore whilst I was able to find any odds pre-fight I have subsequently found some which had Lopez as wide as about a +400 underdog which would have netted the 3 players who picked him a x2 multiplier, however upon investigation he opened at around +225 on the day of the fight which would be insufficient to allow a multiplier and is also in line with standard proceedure of using the odds available at the time the thread was put up.

Okay gentlemen, kinda predictable I guess with the vast majority picking all four favourites and all but a few of us missing on Lopez and expecting the Zapeda KO.

A warm welcome and a very special mention to debutante Mooon who left pretty much everyone in his shadow with 4 correct and 2 perfect picks and getting the method for all four fights correct. Outstanding man, just a shame you didn't join earlier or you might be near the top of the table. Also special mentions for TBear, the only other player to get all four results correct and ShaneSr who continues an excellent run with 2 perfect picks to place him in the #1 slot on leaderboard. Kudos to all 3 of you.

Also worthy of mention SceneBoxer who managed to pull off this weeks high score of 150 through a combination of solid picks and judicious use of multipliers.
