You are certainly right about boxing being about more than having that "one punch". Still, if Wilder continues with the knockouts and knocks out the right guys he will have a legacy and be in the HOF. Professional boxing is more than winning on points. Rocky Marciano wasn't the best boxer of his era but he left a legacy and it is well deserved.Last edited by OldTerry; 01-04-2020, 03:09 PM.Comment

Any great fighter can lose and so can Wilder. Joshua lost and he is top shelf talent as did Duran, Hagler, Leonard, Joe Louis, etc.History has already handed Wilder an L ,and stats suggest he’s going to take more losses since stepping up. He only has one unofficial loss because he was saved by the bell more then once .
Even though Furys a clown and hurts his own career I’m still taking him and by stoppage this time only because I have to believe there’s a slight intelligent thinking process somewhere and Kronk gym MIGHT teach him how to throw correct punches for this one ?
But yea one punch isn’t going to cut it in the long run ,Wilders just lucky he hasn’t fought a guy with two fisted power yet otherwise he would have lost awhile back .Comment

In the HW division power is the most important thing. Nobody with as poor technique as Wilder could be as successful as a bantamweight or a lightweight but as a HW you can get away with it.Comment

He lost almost every round against Ortiz before the KO. I wouldn't call that improved boxing. He doesn't need to improve his boxing skills to beat Fury. All he needs to do is land one good straight right to the chin.Comment

Wilder may not be the best boxer, but he's a great fighter. Wilder has been able to get everyone he's faced into the right position to throw his bomb over and over again...and he's getting better at it. Tyson is a great boxer, but he gets hit, flush. Ask Cunningham, Wallin, Klitschko and Wilder. The thing is, he was not able to deter Wilder in the first fight, and he won't do it either in the second fight, but he will get hit again.Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who co-promotes undefeated heavyweight contender Tyson Fury, gives his boxer a massive edge in terms of boxing ability, in the upcoming rematch with WBC world champion Deontay Wilder.

You know it my man . This is what iam looking for right here , and to think I just freaked out on that troll daneutral and was about to leave this place behind , yourself and another couple other people have made it worth my while ....there are still logical fans out there lol ....and I totally thought about your analogy of Jones jr and wilder and I cant disagree they both rely on athleticism and one other thing , one speed , the other power.... so i do see your point i think it's hard to see the comparison if u are looking at what u said in the wrong context . But again I respect tour opinion , I will try and find another fighter from the past ( or present ) that can help me.find the comparison iam looking for hahaa ....this convo isn't over broMuch respect Normnealon, this is how boxing debates are supposed to play out.

Wish these inarticulate fan boys understood it so that we could have more meaningful discussions and have a much more rich and complete sport.Comment
