Ok, it was fun trashing Tank Davis for the Gamboa performance but....

    I think you're right.

To be sharp fighters have to be disciplined, fight often, and fight progressively better opponents.

Gervonta is not doing any of those right now.

Thats what I mean. He was criticizing Haney and Tank for their last fight when they are no necessarily defining.
I am just playing devil's advocate!
I personally think Tank is too unprofessional to go far at this point.
Lopez could beat Loma, but if his mentality of "i am not fighting anymore tall dudes" is present vs Loma, he will quit the moment Loma gets a bit of rythm going.
Haney is great, I just don't think he can beat Loma at this point. The big advantage he has in his jab and reach is sorta limited by Loma. He is sort of an orthodox Luke Campbell, therefore losing part of the advantage of outboxing that Luke had.
All of them can beat Loma, but Tank is absolutely the worst of the pack with that **** attitude!

He was picking his shots, and conserving himself, because he wasn't in the proper condition to unload like he usually does. Chalk it up to poor preparation, and not taking his training camp, and porfession serious enough.

He'll be better prepared in his next fight, and put on a better show.

He looked great against Pedraza, easily the best opponent he's faced... and then stopped fighting opponents of that level and looked hit or miss in several fights after that.

Yeah, I’ve been thinking the same thing. It’s possible Tank’s power didn’t follow him to 135. Gamboa had been down a ton of times in his career prior to the Davis fight, so going down three more times meant nothing. On the other hand, Yuri took some hard, flush shots that made everyone take notice, including the commentators. Nearly a full twelve rounds to finish an old, injured, stationary opponent? What would Lopez have done?
