Comments Thread For: Danny Garcia On Pacquiao: Have To Beat A Legend To Be A Legend

Spence said recently that he'll come back around the same time Pacquiao is expected fight. The unbeaten IBF/WBC welterweight champion also stated that he doesn't want a tune-up fight in his first appearance since suffering cuts to his face and dental damage during a one-car accident October 10 in Dallas.

No way he beats MP. He'd get out worked if not stopped.

Many posters believe that I have been pretty harsh on Danny Garcia for being a cherrypicker but if he defeats Manny Pacquiao, then I would give him full credit for doing so without any excuses.

I didn't make any excuses for Keith Thurman when he lost to Manny Pacquiao and I won't be making any excuses for Pac if he loses to Danny Garcia.

DSG is capable of being one of the greats. He holds back entirely too much though. Sound technical fighter with lots of pop but his heart is weak or he's afraid to just let his hands go.

As good as Pacquiao is at his age, he’s too old for someone to call themselves a legend after beating him. Aside from the money, it’s almost a no-win situation for the opponent. If you win, you beat a sub-par Manny; if you lose, you got beat by an old man. Thurman’s stock went down after his loss to Pacquiao. No shame in it — Manny’s obviously unusual — but let’s face it, Keith went down to a forty-year-old man.

How can you say Danny gets stopped when A) Danny has never been stopped or even knocked down B) Pacquiao hasn’t stopped anyone besides a way past his prime Matthysse, in years.

Look I could seriously see Pacquiao out boxing and winning a decision, but him knocking out a big strong welter in his prime, is ridiculous at this stage of Manny’s career.
