No way Clenelo should have been selected FOTY considering he dropped two belts before defending them and had a fight where the opponent confessed that he did not prepare and took the fight just for the money. Plus he called everybody that thought he was going to win ******.
I agree! One of the best fights I ever saw also did not make FOTY. It’s also no coincidence that the fight had one of the best referees; Smolger. If you have not seen Delvin Rodriguez vs . Pawel Wolak I, please do yourself a favor and do so. In that fight Smolger does not separate them A SINGLE TIME. That is no exaggeration. Not a single time does Smolger step in and separate them in a 10 round fight. It was so noticeable that even Atlas gave him props.

I saw it live on ESPN and it was a treasure and a fight I’ll never forget.

They had a tournament and those two guys made it to the final. Again, the fighters made this happen.

For me, GGG - derevyanchenko and Spence -Porter.

I also liked Pacquiao -Thurman and Taylor -Prograis.

Good fight but not worthy of best. You can't have a FOY if you don't get 100% from both fighters. It was clear to see GGG was suffering from a cold. His breathing difficult for him from the beginning. His energy was drained and that effected his power I'm sure. I don't think you get a FOY candidate even when one side is handicapped. Just my opinion...

Kovalev vs Yarde I was on edge of my seat rooting for Sergey the last few rounds were like a movie. Porter vs Spence and Ggg vs Derevyanchenko come close. Also Hooker vs Ramirez.

Golovkin is the most entertaining fighter in the sport and has been for some years now

Entertaining fight but there were others I'd put ahead of it.
