Comments Thread For: Gamboa To Avoid Surgery, Will Rehab Injury For Up To 3 Months

Former unified world champion Yuriorkis Gamboa will avoid surgery for an injured Achilles tendon that he suffered in last Saturday's TKO defeat at the hands of Gervonta Davis. Gamboa suffered the injury in the second round, which may have happened after he was knocked down. He was dropped two more times as the contest went along, before the fight was waved off in the twelfth round at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

I wish Gamboa would just retire already. It was awesome watching him in his time. It’s a shame we never saw his full potential. But it’s time to hang ‘em up. Nothing sadder than watching a once great fighter carry on as a ghost.

Gamboa would have still lost a lopsided fight. Lol maybe it would have gone to the cards though.

Yeah I tore my ACL and MCL completely. I rehabbed it for 3 months and was good to go.

About as legit as Gamboa's ruptured Achilles.
