There are going to be a lot of morons like Curt Henning and about***intime talking bulls hit but I will explain the facts. They will say s hit like if GGG wanted the Canelo fight he could have fought Charlo and become Canelo's mandatory. But as we see with the WBC making Canelo their franchise champion (and freezing Charlo out) that is a bunch of crap. The fact of the matter this whole mandatory thing was ordered in early October 2018. HBO had all but permanently abandoned boxing by that point and GGG did not have a network deal. He wasn't looking for a fight by fight deal he was looking for a long term deal. So a fight with Charlo wasn't in the cards until that deal was secured. He had had ESPN, DAZN and PBC all bidding on him. If he signed with ESPN they would have built up a PPV fight with Ryota Murata that sold horrifically. If he signed with PBC a fight with Charlo wouldn't have happened right away. The fight would have been built up to a PPV level clash that did decent but not overwhelming numbers. But he decided to sign with DAZN because they assured him that he would get his desired trilogy fight with Canelo if he joined their stable.
So that's why the GGG/Charlo fight wasn't made when GGG was his mandatory. Don't believe the haters bull sh it. After all, Sergei Derevychenko is a PBC fighter and got a fight with GGG. He had to go to DAZN to get it. Charlo is perfectly content fighting the Brandon Adams and Dennis Hogan's of the world rather than a real threat.
Its a shame because that's one of the fights I really want to see.
