Lomachenko: Tank and Floyd are businessmen. Not athletes

Lomachenko is a special boxer in several respects. He’s a throwback to a time when fighters were much more concerned about their legacy. It’s just not the same sport anymore. But I have to be honest; I completely understand why some merely seek to make as much money as possible as safely as possible. It sucks for the fans; but at the end of the day, it’s their health and their future at stake. No one here would allow a bunch of strangers to dictate their fate if they can help it. Most boxing fans don’t even give a shit. A fighter gets killed or crippled and they’re soon forgotten. That’s the truth.
Especially when a fighter is getting towards the end of their career. I'd like to think they can earn enough to set themselves up. They put so much into the sport, I want them to get something out of it.
I have to say though, that Floyd was both a businessman and an athlete during his career. He may have only expressed his 'athlete' aspects within the confines of his businessman's mindset, but it was there and it was extremely good.Comment

Loma speaks facts. He is doing whatever it takes to fight top dogs, build legacy and leave an everlasting imprint in the history of boxing. While Tank is looking for big names at their worst. Apparently they confirmed they want no part of Loma and used a silly excuse
Here is the link to Loma's talk:

Lomachenko just seems to have "champion" in his bloodstream. Is he invincible ? Of course not, but he has a no-nonsense, throw-back attitude that's hard to dislike.
When a fighter, any fighter, is just all about unifying a division, how can I be critical of him when he keeps on winning ? There are no questions about why or who he is fighting. It's who has one of my belts at this weight, and when can we lace them up?
It's cut and dry and he's lived up to whatever he's spoken on, consistently, as far as I'm concerned.
Could he lose ? Maybe, I hope not. I won't be betting against him, not in 2020.Comment

I kind of get it as well.

Look, I don't have a negative word to say about Tank, or about Haney, or Teofimo Lopez, but man that interview says it all.

He did push for a fight with Garcia but Garcia dismissed it. Try to get your facts right. Pacquiao is a great fighter who is naturally two weight classes heavier than Loma who can make 126 and was fighting at that weight when he was past the age boxers grow bigger. You don't even like Pac but you will bring him up to trash a great Eastern European fighter because you clearly hate them for some fuced up reason. Loma doesn't need to enhance his legacy because it is already a great legacy right now. You would still hate him and trash him if he had defeated both Mikey and Pac because hating good champions is what you do.Comment

sounds just like triple flop. and we saw triple flop transform into a "business man" himself lol. Loma accepting the franchise label was a bidness move like another poster stated. and can u really be mad at how tank's career is being handled? I mean numbers don't lie the kid is becoming a crossover star what they're doing is working so fck it.Comment
