Yeah, day II of the media workout, with Vernon Forrest and Andre Berto. As usual, Boxing Scene soldiers AS and Jefe de Jefes were there covering the action.
Lemme tell you this about the event, Vernon Forrest got into the ring, did some light shadow boxing and then hit the showers. I don't know if its because he's concerned about his shoulder or what, but it seemed abit su****ious. Another possible explanation could be that Vernon Forrest wasn't at all interested in being there. The entire time he was there he was looking at the clock as if he didn't want to be there.
When I asked him if I could talk to him for the site I was with, he said he only does interviews at press conferences. Down he goes to the bottom of my dislike list, don't expect too many kind words from me in the future pare
Can't wait to see Quartey stretch him.
The main event was with Andre Berto, the outstanding 2004 Olympian. He put on an incredible show, working beautiful combinations on the pads. He was very friendly to the media, and even gave me an interview which I'm gonna post tonight. He's a very personable young guy.
Other people we were able to talk with were Jaidon Codrington, who instantly won me over with how cool he is. Dame Dash from Rocafella and Buddy McGirt were there as well. McGirt said that Gatti is going to fight once more and retire, and thinks Forrest is a superior fighter to Quartey
